Those Simple shoes look straight out of a retirement home but I'm curious about them... are they comfy?

Thanks man. I got 'em free from homie, he use to tour around europe with this one band as a merch man. Band was sponsored by vans so at the end of the tour they just threw their slightly used shoes away. He saved those bad boys for himself but i made him change his mind😄 Best colorway imo.

Hahahaha yeah I could see that, like I said they look way less strange looking in person. The silhouette makes them look huge but I'd label them as a thin cupsole. They're really comfy actually, they're shaped like an actual foot and not just a narrow tow box narrow everything style that a lot of skate shoes are like. The grip is really good, and designed so it flexes really well so it's not just a brick on your foot(kind of like how converse weapons were). It breathes good because of the holes, and sections of the inside are leather(so is the toecap which is nice). I bought them to be snug, and they fit like a leather glove. There's no wiggle room, but because of the shape I mentioned earlier, it's not jamming my toes, just feels secure. I'm really looking forward to skating them, I can always tell a good shoe by just walking around and how they feel.

feel great, skate great, 3 hours into skating and chill and this shit. thought waxed canvas was supposed to be durable =[

Looking at the pics, it looks like these don't have a gusseted tongue but a floppy shit one that's only attached at the bottom, like on non-water repellent Classic His. Is that right?

I've been bored lately and I'm thinking of getting some high top skate shoes for motobiking as I'm sick of my motorbike boots, but it's not all that easy to find something that won't let all the wind in from the sides of the tongue.  :-\

The old reynolds LX and the old howard desert boot (with camo gum sole) have the tongues you are looking for. A more current option would be the all weather skate hi Vans makes.

I've been checking out the Vans SK8 Hi MTE, but something about it just seems off to me. I have some old Vans winter shoes (no idea what model) and I've skated them. The outer seems to last decently but the sole and insole are so bad for skating. Absolutely no impact protection. Even skating just flat it's not very nice with them. Ideally I guess I'd like a shoe I could ride my motorbike around town with and skate if I feel like it.

Just got this promo box in from Vans for the Crockett 2.

Came with a special dust bag, sketch book and a real rose.

So sick.

whose leg i gotta hump to get some shoes thrown my way >:( >:( >:( :-[?

Will you be skating them Tate or will you be placing them in what I can only assume to be a dizzying shoe collection you have.

If you do choose to skate them, let us know how they skate, how nice the insole is, any huge changes from his 1st shoe etc etc

Probably going to skate them, not sure yet. Seems the insole is the same as other vans pro shoes when I took them out.

They have a little weight to them, I forget if the 1's had some heaviness on them too.
