only been wearing them around the house to break em in,

This confuses me lol. Why break them in? Vulcs will feel their best when they are right out the box and will only start to feel worse and worse until they turn into floppy slippers lol.

Now if it was a cup I'd understand. Cups are usually the exact opposite where the worst they will ever feel is brand new and it will only feel better the more and more it breaks in.

That being said, those things are sexy as fuck.

So, the weather is finally warming up here (thank God) and I got a chance to start skating my Emerica Indicator lows.  These might be some of the worst emerica (and shoes) I've had in a long time. The toe cap is already balding, the side is ripping up, and the grip is ass  -- it's not like I've skated them a ton it was like a couple hour sessions two days in a row just skating my flatbar. They are super comfortable and who knows maybe I got a bad batch or something, but, it still sucks because I was hyped to try em' out.  I've always supported Emerica (had a bunch of Romeros and Reynolds) but it might time to switch it up and try something new after these.

Noble, fix those twisted laces, it's killing me. I love those shoes though, where did you find them that cheap?

I normally don't really care about my shoes but there was something about this colorway that sucked me in.  Also the first pair of shoes from a non-skater owned brand in years

@Jud even vulcs require breaking in sometimes, though definitely not as much time as a cupsole. These felt kinda stiff at first but actually broke in quite fast just from walking around my pad and walking around my neighborhood.

Firebert: I'll admit I've never been one to put too much care or take too much pride in my lace jobs, hah. As long as they're on evenly, the faster they're on the better. I got them from this shoe store called WSS. They had some all brown Provost slims on sale for 30 bucks too.

I know it's just that I love fresh vulcs. It's where you get the maximum protection, comfort and stability.

Far too many vulcs for me go from new, to broken in to floppy way too fast so I take advantage of a nice pre-broken in vulc.

That being said, those Reynolds look pretty thin? You mean to tell me they are stiffer than they look?

They were somewhat at first but they broke in super quick. As opposed to a Vans Pro vulc shoe which I feel takes a bit more walking around in before they break in fully.

Definitely gotta break in all shoes by just walking around with them first, no matter if they're vulcs, cupsoles, slippers, boots or anything else. I don't think I'm all that fussy about shoes, but it definitely takes a while for any shoe to mold to your foot a bit. I wouldn't think of skating a shoe that doesn't feel like my foot is used to the shoe and the shoe to my foot.

I guess I'm just different. To me there's almost nothing better than skating a vulc right out of the box.

Also imagine those CCS 100 kickflips. All with freshies.

Yeah, that is weird to me. I hate how new shoes feel. Even after breaking them in by walking, the first 5 to 15 skate sessions with them I hate them. Less and less as time goes on. Then when they're just about to die I pretty much always think they're the best shoes I've skated.  :)

Found these randomly browsing this shoe store out here called WSS, they were on sale for 30 bucks; it was too good of a deal to pass up. Haven't skated them yet, only been wearing them around the house to break em in, but so far they feel comfy as hell.
-Emerica-

literally bought 2 pairs of these about 4 months ago at that WSS place by my house. they lasted a little over a month each of just straight skating but they are so comfy. I went back to get more and they were all gone :'(

I am with Jud on this one, vulc shoes for me are only good for few days until they start to get floppy. If I were a sponsored skater I'd love to chance my shoes once a week. Now i just stick with cupsoles, they need some breaking in tho....

Found these Chuck Taylors yesterday from flea market, paid 7euros. Do not really understand how people can skate these shoes, there's zero support.

Yea I know, I've tried those Lunarlon ones on my feet and there's difference like day and night between OG ones and those. But I was talking about regular Chucks with regular insole, seen people skate those a lot too... But on the other hand, people skate Vans authentics as well so what do I know.

I skate regular chucks and authentics sometimes, I just put a thin emerica g6 insole on top of the regular one and it makes it feel like any vulc shoe. Lace em up to the top and it's all good.

The pro's are way beefier and comfier though.

Normal chucks are terrible for skating. Even just for rolling to the corner store and back with my cruiser. It feels almost like wearing no shoes at all. And I'm not a "thick new cupsole shoes only" type of person at all, I like my worn in vulc shoes very much. The CTAS Pros on the other hand feel really good IMO.

Are those even real chucks? The toe looks fucked like some Route 66 or something

There are factories in many countries and the quality varies. The most dramatic change must be the Chucks made to sell in the US, with the thin little felt on the soles so they qualify as slippers due to import law shenanigans. The made in Brazil Chuck Taylors ALL STAR feel more clunky and less perfect than the ones made elsewhere. Same with the Vans.

Matching shoes. Cute! Got matching track suits as well?  ;D

Oh, and from that pic the chucks look legit to me at least.
