been waiting on these for what seems like forever, fit way better than my suede ones that are a few years old - I can't tell if they changed anything

How is the sizing compared to regular Chuck Taylors? I really like this shoe!

I wear a half size down for the non-skate chucks

Compared to what size in the skate ones

I'm actually skating some Dekline Bixby's at the moment that I picked up on the cheap after the company folded. I'm not gonna lie, they are actually pretty great, and they are perfect width for my wide feet.

favorite combo right now

Slip-On Pro

Thinking about doing the exact same combo. What size Lunarlon insole would work for a 8.5 Slip On Pro?

I would try 7.5, My cons are 9.5 and my Slip Ons are 10.5.

My (personal) rule of thumb is that
cons=0.5 down from normal & Vans PRO=0.5 up

We all have different feet tho

This seems accurate, but I have to go TTS for Vans Pro because they bag out so much. My size 9 is usually too tight for a day, then by the time I'm done skating them they're a 10.5.

oh shit!

for me it is 0,5 size down in vans pros (usually an US 8 size in everything) and a full size down in converse! CTAS for example...had some highs where i could have gone 1,5 size down to US 6,5 just cause they bagged out soooo bad! adidas busenitz is 0,5 down too in size!

Same here I did the same insole swap a while ago with a pair of sz 10 era pros and sz 10 koston 1s and it fit perfectly

Wife bought herself some new cons and it was get a second half off so she picked me up these Purcell's with Lunarlon.  I am surprisingly pretty psyched on them.  Peter and Jake do not seem to give a fuck either way

Just picked up these NB#505
I was really stressing out about sizing since I've read so many horror stories on Slap and other online reviews, but I went with a 9.5 which is what I also wear in dunks, Sole Tech cupsole shoes (Emerica Laced, eS Accel Slim, ect..) and I wear a 9 in Vans.
Many people have said this, but there is NO negative space in these shoes and fit like a glove, but they do not stub my toes like some other tight-fitting shoes do.
Heel lock is amazing without lacing them all the way up, which I hate doing.
The sole feels thin, which seems to be because your foot sits low in the cupsole which provides a more stable feel. Insole seems nice too. Not too thick and cushy so you still get a ton of board feel. I do not like the Vans Ultracush/Adiprene for that reason.

I honestly have no complaints so far, but I did notice one of the shoes has a bubble in the sole. Kind of like the old G2 system Sole Tech used to do.Has anyone seen this issue? I don't think it will affect the skate-ability much or at all, but it does look funky.

I agree!

Purcell's fit a full size bigger than normal skate shoe size?

I got these in a 7 ( would have probably went 7.5 if they had them as the rubber toe obviously won't give and it's a little snug ) an am normally an 8.5 in almost everything

Nah, this pair isn't from the skate line but I'm about to pull the trigger on either a pair of these to skate low impact shit or a pair of the Louie Lopez highs as I finally found a pair in my size

So no one took these off my hands and since I don't have (m)any other skate shoes at the moment I've decided to roll with them

Will do a review in the vegan shoe thread but my opinion of them has changed a lot since the weather has cooled down a bit. If you like vans skate his and you want a bit more support you'd probably fucking love these!

oops, Ryan Lay Etnies. Nice observation though as the do feel pretty much like a Hi version of Leo's shoe. Not getting much love outside vegan circles but I feel the upcoming pyramid country colab with give this shoe the shine it deserves. Currently writing a review for it in the other thread.

Been running the Sk8 Hi's for longer than I can remember. Before this I had my first Pro pair and the quality seemed way worse than just the standard issue ones. The sole blew out after a few weeks so hopefully the standards did not decrease in quality.

I had some romero for cheap, they look identical from upper, with synthetic suede....still can't figure out why they made them that low with no heel support, and knife edges that cut your achilles...I regret having bought them, now they're my pimp shoes lol ouch !

I have had lunarlon insoles and busenitz pros, not together though. But I would definitely say it makes your foot sit a bit too high.
