anyone ever burn their laces? does that work?
I’ve burned the ends countless times when they laces were too long, have only done the burn/melt thing once on a ripping lace, worked well enough, but as the shoe stretched and they wrapped around my foot more the spot I did moved further in and it happened all over again
That’s my main problem with supergluing laces. It works nicely for sure but at some point you just gotta cut the laces off and put in new ones cuz the shoe has stretched out and you can’t always fit the superglued parts through the loops.
Also forget using socks that are different thicknesses. This is why I really like shoes where the laces don’t break that easily. I don’t think I ripped a lace once on HUF Dylans as they’re so high up and narrowly placed.
Maybe I should just buy some 90s style shoes with lace loops that protect the laces so they don’t rip, like the éS Schemes cuz I’m a notorious lace ripper. 🤔
