I don’t wanna pick on anyone (ahem... guy in black era pros) and I’ve said it in this thread before, but some of the sock choices on here destroy me. Its easy: normal full length sock or go sockless. Nothing in between should be manufactured or purchased.

They’re called quarter socks and they go well with shorts.

ankle socks are mostly gross so I stay away from them. same with no-show socks. but youre kidding yourself if you think crew socks are the only answer! especially if ur pulling them all the way up? that looks like dookie.

sockless is for higher level masochists.

half-crew and 3/4 socks are usually more flattering if u don’t have cankles and have relatively well defined gastrocnemii. the fit/design of the sock matters too.

I never understood the notion that wearing one less layer of fabric on your feet somehow makes them stink. Maybe my feet are unnaturally odorless but nowadays I go most of summer without socks and most other times in merino wool. Cotton socks are the stinky ones.

That being said, skating sockless sounds painful even to me.

Because you have a clean, washable intermediary between your stinky foot and shoe that lessens the foot funk that builds up in your shoes.

New old skool pros. With ultracush still unfortunately not popcush. Last pair of these didn’t fit right so went up in sizing. Got for $40 goat credit shipped so not complaining.

Just ordered the blackout old-school, skated them once, hard to get used too switching from capsules, my flick was jacked

Kalis S, my damn country doesn't sell them in 1/2 sizes so I had to get a shoe stretcher to fit my insoles Worked out great since it made the shoes feel worn in from the first session. The outsole is nice and grippy for flips but looks like it's wearing faster than I would like. I managed to snag them for $30 on clearance, tempted to get another pair. After this pair I don't know if I could ever skate another cupsole, even though DC has some good looking ones on clearance locally.

Yup 1 got some cheap wooden ones and left them in for 1-2 days. I have wide feet and wear hard insoles; the insoles would bend when fitting into the shoe. So the shoe stretcher really helped to wear them in a little. I would have used the frozen bag of water method but my fridge is tiny and my wife would kill me if she found my shoes in the fridge.

How do those gilby highs feel compared to Sk8 His?

I've decided I really only feel good in hightops now due to a wobbly ankle and I've been eyeing those gilbys in white but of course I'd need to order them online and I fucking hate buying shoes without trying them.
