Both of these are lookin nice, always been a fan of off-white suede. I like what you did to those vans. Simplifies and already simple look.

It’s what that model originally looked like.  They started adding that V with the Quasi collab

I thought that weird V was a heritage thing?

Huh I guess they changed it up .  I had a gold/mustard colored pair that was in the pro line that def didn’t have the V on there and didn’t have the tongue label.  Don’t think there was anything on the tongue at all

Trying out something new.  I get this bug every so often and the Austyn to Globe reminded me that I didn't mind Haslam's Globe mid when I tried that.  Someone had mentioned this shoe and looks wise it was right up my alley.  Quality seems great, no stray stitches or glue anywhere, not even under the insole.  Good choice if you want a basic vulc.

Sorry for the lack of the shoe's you're wearing thread in the background, was watching my girls at their jujitsu class.

I haven’t skated in more than two weeks so it’s been a while since I’ve worn these. Upgraded from beat up Adidas insoles to some fresh Cons. They feel so good (it feels good to be skating again too.)

These look a lot dirtier under this light than they appear irl. You can see the drips on the suede leaving marks but its not as bad. No defense for white stuff thats from a donut or taco. Nice and light, bare bones vulc tho.

I got bored went down a rabbit hole on that Pillowheat dude's site. So there is the Style 66 "Epoch" from BITD that didn't have the weird V piece, and then the Style 73 "Epoch Sport" with that little squiggly V added. The Sport one looks like it came later but still back in the early 90's. Looks like Vans is just calling the weird V version the "Sport" for the new Skate Classics line.

And looks like Vans has reissued both in the Pro build, confirmed from that photo Concerned Parent posted!

Going off the Epoch discussion: Vans needs to utilize their toe bumper-less foxing tape more often. I get that toe bumpers add more rubber for more longevity, but I think shoes without them look so much more appealing.

I agree! I have this pair too and much prefer the foxing. Rolled ankle included for proof of poster.

These. The white ones are fucked already. The horrible multicoloured ones were free because a friend had them for ten years and didn't want em. Worst material I've ever seen, some weird suede crap that flakes apart when you walk around. I covered them with hot glue (yeah from a glue gun) before i skated them. They feel good and look like shit. Perfect!

I haven't skated vulcs since maybe 2015 (and even then it was just the odd pair of sole tech vulcs with good insoles), but I recently got some DC Kalis vulcs and I'm paying the price now. Feet are so sore I couldn't skate today, and it was keeping me up last night when I was trying to sleep.

I'm switching to some Etnies Veer's I had previously shelved for the opposite reason - they're so thick it's hard to feel your board. They've been broken in from months of walking though, so back to supportive cupsoles it is! They feel like clouds in comparison.

would y'al say TTS on these? I wear 9 in Adidas copas, and the new vans slips too if that helps

I recently picked up the lows and I went TTS. Fit snug but in a good way, hugs your foot well. Can't imagine there would be a huge difference for the highs.

Half a size down at least for the highs

TTS for me. The toe box on these isn’t as tall as other shoes I’ve skated recently, and I have thicker insoles in them, so they feel a touch small but not nearly enough to go up in size. Going down a half size would not work for me personally.

DC Manual RT S. So they decided to copy the uncomfiness of Chucks/Purcells too. Narrow fit, no DC I-impact outsole that I really like and stupid thin insoles (5mm heel to 3mm toe). My feet hurts just walking around long day. Really hope they'll continue making Evan Smith hi zeros, no way I would seriously skate these.

Same even when I was younger it hurt. Now in mys 30s it's inconceivable.  My homies my age still skating chucks and vans make me cringe
