Finally received my 480 highs and might I say @rothdigga, you all have been really on the ball, really been loving the 480 family (amongst the 1010s & 808s).
I'm with @ok regarding the 808s, I've been racking my brain on how to stretch out the toe box, whether it be a shoe stretcher, heat with extra socks or some other method to get them to widen just a bit. I wish I had consulted more with the forum before purchasing, as it was an impulse buy & went TTS, really wish I went a half size up on the 808s and maybe a half size down on the 1010s. Don't get me wrong, I love the 808s, just wish they were a little less snug on my tootsies.
these 480s look sick. that 80s rock shit.
ok i’ve whinged a bunch about this, here’s what sorta works for me: tts on the 1010s. 1/2 size down and i didn’t get the heel slip, but i was crammed into the shoe. joggers lace/loop, and i was good to go there.
.5 up on the 808s, and that still wasn’t enough across the toe box. i have some shoe trees, but they aren’t a shoe stretcher. i ended up packing the toe box with news paper, hella jammed in there, and then walked around in the 808s (which is a pleasure), and now, months and months later, they are comfy. that shoe lasts too long for nb to make money. so good.
i want to get the ….reynolds emerica cw, little nervous in that ollie guard rubber not stretching all that great (and super laughably if you saw my skating, i’m a little concerned about the rubber for ‘my flick’….)
480s or 808s for the next, for me. 808s make
it possible for me to skate thru my leg/foot pain.
oh and the 1010s….i just got used to the heel slip. i’ve rambled long enough here, and in the past in this specific subject: i just need to get comfortable wearing slightly larger/ CORRECTLY FITTING shoes. i got used to the feeling of shoes too tight. i’m an idiot
