Skated my 808s for the first session ever this evening and i must say me and my knees greatly appreciate these shoes. After only skating vulc hightops the past 9 years straight, this was my first time skating cupsoles and lowtops in a very long time. At first it felt pretty wild, then within 20 min i started to feel really comfortable on the board and all my usual knee pain didnt exist during the session and hopefully wont feel as bad the day after. So hyped i finally gave these a try and i think im hooked for a while now. About to order another pair to have on ice. Cant wait for more sessions in them! If you are like me and are curious about the 808, give them a try!!!
Usually 808 works better +.5 but yes ,game changers.

The older and more broken in the better they get.

I have to throw mine out for hygiene reasons after like 5 months. Zero real holes. Probably could get a full year out of a pair with daily daily daily skating

I gotta find more on sale stat. In black and blue or black and red. Yo These are for 100 the second best shoe I've ever had in my life. Skate and regs included

I legit feel 10 years younger wearing these full time
Album link. I saw another pals account   Photos too big. Apologies. I know some of yall hate me for it

Haha I totally get the 10 yrs younger statement. I felt that way skating in them yesterday. Definitely found a bunch of color ways on sale for around 60 bucks that I'm going to grab. I wonder they will keep making these for yrs to come or slowly fade out with how many people like the 1010s more

dumb question and I should probably toss them, but I have 2 pairs of shanes I wear for work, (low key navy goes with the business casual bullshit) but they are suede and stink!

I was at my cubicle and could smell them, is there a way to wash these?

Right now I am looking at grabbing a pair of janoskis to replace then a pair of thicc new balance or sum for comfy. lookng at some 480s or 1010s, I am a 9.5 in vans and most, my Tyshawns are a half size too small any recommendations?

Also any recommendations for dress shoes, loafers? Trying to give some a chance but no matter what people say they all murder my feet. Growing up bailing on stair sets was a poor decision but alas here we are

Take out the insoles and throw them with the shoes into the washing machine and let them dry in the shadow.

I've heard that using vodka/alcohol with a spray bottle can kill a lot of bacteria and smell, maybe that could work. they use that technique in ballet because handmade tutu's can't be washed.
I mean for dress shoes I would recommend something US/UK made, full grain leather. I wear Quoddys and Rancourt to work but my job is more casual. Loafers are almost always uncomfortable. Allen edmonds is solid too. You're probably going to have to spend a lot on dress shoes for something comfortable.

There's always Rockport. Hella dorky to me but I wore a pair of their oxfords when my plantar fasciitis was making it too difficult to stand all day and I had a shipping job. From the outside, they looked like a basic dress shoe but construction and materials wise they were built more like a sneaker. I think that is the point of the brand.

Yea i want to avoid some of the hybrid because most look bad but i cant deny the plantar facists. Everyone is so relaxed after covid its kinda nice for sneakerheads but i still feel like a goober if people are dressed up for clients/guests etc

Thanks
I will try alcohol then a wash, if that does not work!

Finally received my 480 highs and might I say @rothdigga, you all have been really on the ball, really been loving the 480 family (amongst the 1010s & 808s).

I'm with @ok regarding the 808s, I've been racking my brain on how to stretch out the toe box, whether it be a shoe stretcher, heat with extra socks or some other method to get them to widen just a bit. I wish I had consulted more with the forum before purchasing, as it was an impulse buy & went TTS, really wish I went a half size up on the 808s and maybe a half size down on the 1010s. Don't get me wrong, I love the 808s, just wish they were a little less snug on my tootsies.
@Jim and Dan I really dig your tattoo.

I recently found my old Vans Tnt SGs. Used to not like them at all. Try them again after years and a new Dr. Sholl Work insoles and now i love how they look and feel. The looser pants helped a lot too.

Always liked me a mid shoe. And all black with white laces are sick !

Got the Cambridge Yeah Right! for cheap. Very comfy but the profile is very low, the transition from my old Telfords Hi (the flexy V1, not the rigid V2) is something.

Maybe old stock / old gear sitting in closet? I remember as a kid I had a dead stock pair of Bucky Lasek Airwalks that were like 3 sizes too big when bought but when I finally didn fit in them 4 years must have passed. Anyway I wore them. For a bit and this same exact thing happened, shoe was totally fine and intact but the tongue just completely separated when putting them on.

These have been the best fitting out of # for me. I’ve always worn the 990 series, but appreciate their numeric line. Tried the 808’s (too tight) and had to return them for another pair of these in the all black.
