Been digging skating these again lately.

How are the Rowan 2s? I loved the first ones. I like cupsoles. I just keep going back and forth if they’re bulky or not. On foot they look good

Genuinely one of the best models Vans has out right now. Had them since mid September, skating a few times a week and the only notable damage is small wear on the toe, faded suede in the high wear areas, and some cracks on the side of the  sole (which seem to only be cosmetic). No rips or anything like that. The break in period was kinda rough for me but the shoe is lasting pretty long because of it in terms of support and comfort. I've been wanting to get new shoes to switch it up but I can't justify it because these shoes aren't even close to being dead.





Downside is the MSRP of $110 which I think is preventing a lot people from trying these out since Vans shoes aren't usually this expensive (plus you can get more trendier options at that price point like NB or Nike SB) but if you're buying from bigger retailers or outlets it's fairly easy to find them in the $60-80 range.

The laces suck though. It's the super thin ones you'd find on lifestyle Chuck Taylors which is disappointing, but mine have not ripped yet.

copped these at Ross for $30 hell yeah. was going to buy some new dress shoes for a big interview and found these instead lol (went to a different Ross the next day and got some dress shoes dont worry im not a total idiot)

think they're Vans wayvee or whatever. pretty comfortable. not my favorite to skate in cuz i prefer mid+ tops like half cabs and fastbreaks. really like the look + walking around in them. good gym shoes too. I love Ross

Soooo, disappointed with DLX at the moment as I hurt my ankle with a strike from a rogue flip last week and immediately ordered the AntiHero highs from them to soften any blows for this weeks sesh... they still haven't shipped.  I realized if I wanted highs for the weekend I'd have to take immediate action, so I started scouring the local apps/forums and found the perfect shoe hahaha...

2020 Turdunkens new in box for $80 ... Now I can protect my ankle and celebrate Thanksgiving in style haha

Wanted to get just a plain skate shoe for all-round usage. Yeah, I get that some of those wild dunk colorways look sick, but I can’t exactly be wearing them with every fit. I found that the April Nike dunk that I got awhile back I never really wear, and I tend to just wear the black Adidas Superstars on the daily. I don’t mind Vans, and after watching a tonne of Quasi videos lately, I was happy to find a pair of the Quasi asphalt old skools – on discount from a guy who was just happy to get them off his hands after only wearing them once. They fit with all my pants well, so I like that I don’t have to overthink any of my outfits (not that the general public notices anyway). Not the best photo, but yeah really enjoyed wearing them through the miniramp and bowl sesh today.

So far it’s ok. Definitely snug in the toe compared to my usual LRABs but it feels supportive as opposed to restrictive if that makes sense. They did get a lot more comfortable as the session went on so I’m hoping they’ll break in pretty quick.
