Previous shoes:
eS Accel OG: nice shoe but a bit bulky and honestly not a hell of a lot of support for a cupsole. Still comfy however. Didn’t skate these for long.
Emerica Winkowskis: Great shoe, but basically no impact protection or support. My feet would hurt after just wearing these throughout the day. Performance and quality wise they are excellent, but put some better insoles in them.
Adidas Superstar ADV: excellent shoe, at first.. once they wear in they soften a lot and become sort of soggy feeling and the insole and midsole compress so much you lose a lot of support. Basically they lose performance rather quickly.
Vans Half Cab: cool shoe, looks great and wears in nicely, but I didn’t enjoy skating them much, so now they are just my work shoes. First day wearing them I got a blister from the collar but after that it softened a bit and was fine. The biggest gripe I had with these is the Pop Cush insole, sort of sandbag feeling at the heel and very little support at the ball/toe (obviously for board feel), so there is this weird contrast between either end of your feet. My toes would hurt skating these, maybe a more consistent feel across the whole insole would help.
My current favourite.
Nike SB Blazer Mid: as much as I didn’t want to fall into this trend, I wanted shoes with good ankle protection and I do like how they look, still I was skeptical. Finally got some in a colourway I wanted and man I get the hype. Nice consistent support, great ankle protection, lightweight and skate really well. And they were the cheapest out of all of these shoes so far!
