Show off how beautiful, ugly, cluttered, or kept is your desktop, how stock or customized is your operating system, by posting a screenshot:
Fluxbox 1.0.0 window manager, MOCp 2.4 command-line .mp3 player, Galeon 2.0.2 lightweight web browser, running on Ubuntu 7.10 (Gusty Gibbon) at 1400x1050... uhhhhhhhhh!
it's 2008 and the linux desktop has no business being that ugly
i can appreciate a good terminal app, but an mp3 player? and that god-awful theme?
you're some kind of a computer hipster, aren't you?
Like I said, I could run KDE and amarok and it would look pretty, but with only 512mb of RAM it would be maaaad slooooow. Besides, I want to hear my mp3s, not watch them. It's a stock fluxbox theme with a nighttime downtown skyline (happens to be Melbourne) as a backdrop—I like it.
OK, I changed it up:
yeah man i get it, although i'm also playing mp3s on a 512 mb pc, all in a pretty gui, no problem, and gnome's said to be the slowest amongst the enviroments
i just don't think it was wise to start some cli ftp client or whateva before taking that screenshot, it's gunna scare people away
anyways, nice to see someone's using linux, stay fresh brotha
