id say its the first book on skateboard 'art', 'image', or whatever you want to call it. ha, i remember being so excited when it first came out! what validation to find this book about skateboarding in bookstores that specialized in art and architecture.
it was compiled by aaron rose and published in 1999. there is a short little essay / timeline by cr stecyk, and the rest is pictures. 'arty stuff', some cool sequences and photos, a couple gatefolds showing ads, decks, stickers. magazine covers, etc. its pretty good in that it covers a lot of different people, companies, images, etc. from across skateboarding. might not have as much resonance with kids who started skating after 2000, but who knows?
not to sound vulgar, but if anyone is interested, this is a pretty good deal. its a very scarce book, and typically sells for more than $100 at places like abe.com. i wouldnt sell it but for the fact im facing an unexpected cash crunch
