That's where I got my first VX, but about 6 months after using it, it shut down and I sent it in to be looked at. The previous owner had tried to do some work on it himself but had fucked up bad, it would have cost me $2000 to repair.
Using eBay to look for a camera that was realeased in the early 90s may not be the best idea.

Yeah, you just have to make sure you bid on a legit one of course. Contact the seller and ask questions about it. With every VX1000 you buy there's a risk of it breaking.

The guy I bought it from was 100% legit on hundreds of items. If you ask them if there are/could be any problems, of course they're going to say no because they want you to buy it. You can't get these new anymore, so they can just blame any problems on the previous owner, and then you're out $800.
