Friedkin discovered William Peterson and his partner for TLADILA when he was a Chicago theater actor with no credits.  Also Dafoe’s first film.

Sorcerer is incredible.  Saw it at CineFamily years ago and Friedkin blacked out the exit signs and absolutely cranked the sound himself, in his madness/senility, to perfect the viewing experience.

“Air” is free on Prime now.   Nothing revolutionary, but I enjoyed it a lot.   Good double feature with Tetris

I was surprised to see skateboarding in it. Realistically, a middle aged shoe designer probably would not have been landing kick flips on flat in 1984.

It isn't his first film.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

We all make mistakes  ;)

It’s definitely one of his very first starring roles.  Misremembered that one for sure.

Figure it had to have been mentioned somewhere. Maybe there should be a general thread on "Skateboarding in movies that aren't about skateboarding".

Then it’ll just be about every time Nico Haraga is in something where he plays the boyfriend of the main character

saw the menu, office space, and dumb and dumber too last night. the menu was pretty funny but I was admittedly a little surprised that there was no cannibalism. the burger scene was great. office space might be one of my favorite projects to have been made by mike judge, and Milton truly was the main character the entire time. I pray that I don't end up in a cubicle for my big-boy career. dumb and dumber too was the least enjoyable out of these three movies but it's (unsurprisingly) it's incredibly stupid and had me laughing the entire time because of how incredibly stupid it is.

Rewatched RAN (1985) it still fukn rules good story (Well it's Shakespeare), pace, visuals etc
Everything's exactly what you'd want

And don't wanna revive bad movies thread but straight after watched women king and that shit fucking sucked. Don't know if it's because I just watched ran but seriously it's like 95 minutes before anything happens and then one pretty average by today's standards big battle then every ten mins for the next hour is like is like oh good this is finally about to end but then it just keeps going on and on

Can't necessarily say this is good, but this was playing at Tarantino's theater in LA last night. It isn't THX 1138, but it has a few interesting moments. I'm looking forward to the director's next film.

It's a fun ride just like BTBR.  A lot more cohesion in the story telling, but equally visual with plenty of wtf moments.

Go see BlackBerry while it’s still in theaters if you can - I had to drive 45 minutes each way to go see it last night and it was still well worth it.  Hilarious and super well made.

Yeah man, best two hours in the cinema for me this year so far.  I didn’t really want it to stop, but for hoping they’d stick the landing, which I feel like it did.  Glenn Howerton’s simply shaved bald head was the only thing that felt low budget to me, but I got used to it and it wasn’t too distracting.  The quality of filmmaking for a $5 million budget is seriously impressive.
