Just finished Taxi Driver for the first time, and it makes me miss young Deniro.  Back before he played Robert Deniro in every movie he's in.
I think I'm gonna try to get through all the classic Scorcese's which I should've seen.  Raging Bull, Mean Streets, New York, New York, etc..
This also got me stoked to finally find The Deer Hunter and watch it.

your in for a hell of a treat, make sure to check out casino if ou havnt already, but fuck, everyones seen casino

don't forget "The King of Comedy" ! ! ! Definitely the most underrated and under-appreciated DiNiro/Scorcese movie.

lets not forget goodfellas....

dawn of the dead (1978) and day of the dead... kinda been on a zombie movie run recently and loved both of them, despite some questionable acting, make up and "special effects", but the satire and social commentary is top notch....  i love how the ending for "dead" movies are so bleak and leave you wondering....

Yo, what'd you think of that?  I kinda dug the conspiracy nutter vibe in that one, not to mention the radical visuals when he threw on the ol beer goggles.

I somehow ended up on a bit of a John Carpenter binge lately, the last one being this...

... which was kinda meh.  It does have a boss hoss theme song though, you gotta dig Carpenter's full frontal involvement in his movies.

The last thing I was stoked on was this:

Otis B. Driftwood, holla.  I've got A Day at the Races lined up next.

i thought it was awesome!  it has a lot of obviously cheesy moments (like that 10 minute fight scene that just keeps going and going), but yeah I thought the theme of the movie was great.  It kind of reminded me of a slightly more serious "Repo Man".

i wonder if Sheppard Fairey lifted his "Obey" logo from the movie...

Burn After Reading...darkest comedy since Funny Games, except a lot funnier and enjoyable to watch...I will probably but it when it comes out

Everyone I know wasn't all that into that movie, and I thought it was great.  just the right amount of crude humor and cuteness.
Every time Katherine Heigel started talking too long I just stared at her tits, it was great.

I'd been meaning to watch this for a while:

It was impressive to watch, what with the no budget eye-candy, but it just made me think of what David Lynch coulda been like if he kept remaking Eraserhead over and over.

This one:

...was pretty awesome.  If you dig Kirk Douglas, it's kinda like the moral polar opposite of his character in Paths of Glory.
