the bronica sq-a seems nice. there are also mamyia press and fuji 645 models ( http://www.dantestella.com/technical/ga645.html) that are lighter and more easy to use.

I'm using a hasselblad 500cm and I have to say it's wonderful camera, especially with a 150mm on it. but I'm mostly into taking portraits and other stuff, that doesn't move quickly.

I've actually thought about a 500cm, just saving up is killing me.  the photos you've scanned here with them are really nice, and it looks like a very portable cam.  Guess I'm just looking for something small at the moment.  I've also looked at the rangefinder option, though not sure if I can get used to using a viewfinder for composition.

For people that shot digital....more notably Nikon. New Nikon D90 replacement coming out in September. They are trying to compete with the Canon 7D. So far, here are the stats:

    * 16MP DX sensor
    * same noise performance like the D700!
    * full HD
    * 8p/s
    * new video AF and performance
    * parts of the body will be aluminium

Hopefully the HD video is a higher frame rate then the what Nikon has. If that is the case, then they'll finally be back in the game. Plus they are unveiling the new automatic focus with the camera that is a first.

most important thing about medium format cameras is too have a) a good lab to develop the the film b) a fucking good scanner or c) a nice lab at home. I really like classic medium format cameras because they take away the speed - you need time to make a good picture. anyway, this one was done poland .... they must have build this skatepark in the ghetto and when I was there people even skated. kuba with a smithgrind.

I shoot digital with the Nikon D300s, which is Nikon's current competition to the 7D. I don't think I'll be purchasing anything digital until I can afford a full frame Nikon DSLR. I'm hoping there's going to be a successor to the D700 with 1080HD.

while sorting out the 10000s of pictures i have taken with my new camera, and realizing that there are about 100 that are remotely usable, i´ve created a flickr account.

nothing too good in there though.

Last night left work I left work at about 4 in the morning. Saw a little fire, firgured it was just some dudes with a barrel fire. Got up to it, and it was a full couch burrning up against the side of this warehouse. So I ran back to my work, and grabbed a fire extinguisher and one of my co-workers.

Had some camera troubles again, shot 3 rolls of film in France but it turned that one of them was completely empty, I think my camera didn't move the film when I winded it because there's one overexposed frame on it and the rest is empty, sucks. So now I only got my second roll, from which I knew it didn't contain any winner photos and my third roll is b&w and it isn't developed yet, so anywho:

This photo of my friend Goof Troop is obviously blurry, but there's something about the sketchiness that I kinda like.
Also, look at the left, there's an obvious error in my camera, but I don't really know what it is, it shows on more photos, does anyone know what the problem is ? As long as it won't get worse or damage my camera I don't really care, because it kinda gives a cool vibe in my opinion (again)

Random, not-too-impressive shot in some French city

I wish my first roll wasn't fucked up, I put more effort in taking decent pictures with that one

the camera isn't winding each film frame completely, causing a double exposure on the left hand side.  if it's jamming up on a single frame, its due for a servicing.  depending on the camera, might even be cheaper to look around for another used model instead of getting it repaired.

hmm yeah, I probably won't consider repairing it since it's a €20 camera. The jamming only happened once though, the 2 rolls after that one were fine except for the double exposure thing. I hope it doesn't get worse, I'm only just starting to get the hang of working with this camera and the whole film thing

Really feeling those last two shots Matze.

D50 is officially put to rest, has some kind of problem with its electronics that would require sending it off to Nikon. Out of warranty, so fuck it. Thing's only worth a couple hundred at best anyway.

But I have a little bit of 35mm stuff and a bunch of 120 stuff to get developed, so hopefully I'll have something worthy to contribute soon. Glad that I'm shooting more regularly regardless.

My second cross process experiment, this time with ektachrome. I like the effect of the xpro
but, I'm kind of bummed you can hardly see the ollie in this photo. Better next time.

it's hard to do good x-pro skate pics - normally there too many shadows while having a couple of very light parts in the scenery. some parts will be really under exposed, while others are totally over exposed ... then you need to overexpose the film anyway (1-2 f-stops), so it's becoming very slow ... and what your problem is now: you start getting grain and an overall green color, so sebastiaan starts getting a little bit blurry in front of the trees.

next time, try to use
a) flashes (light should be natural and without heavy shadows) and
b) avoid a higher light contrast. and maybe
c) get some fuji ct precisa from ebay. this film is awesome for x-pro. I feel bad that it doesn't exist for medium format.

edit: next time: come closer to the object and avoid too much dead space. kind of like this. on the other side he won't get eaten by the grain ...

(my english sucks balls, so I have to edit this post a second time)

Thanks for the advice Matze.

About that getting closer part. I only decided to xpro the film at the very last minute. I read somewhere that my film
was exceptionally well for xpro so I decided to do so. But I fully understand your point, after this last roll.

I think the Yashica is the better steal. That is the camera that Terry Richardson swears by. But they go for a good $200 on ebay. The Leica seems like a deal too but I saw one on Ebay for about a $100. Get the Yashica cause even if you don't like it, you can sell it for twice its worth.
