chuck were u on tour with 'why?' you've had two photos of them playing, from different angles.

also fongstarr what lenses do u usually use?

im really close to buying a canon 6d and 24-105mm l lens, its a ton of money but i want something that will be a worthy investment, not depreciate very badly, and be versatile. for photos, skate videos, and eventually using it for scuba diving when i can afford housing and get higher level of certification. Seems like the 6d is great for low light and fits the other stuff. any one have any experience with full frame dslr's?

^^^I have a 24mm 1.4L and the plastic 50mm. I rented the 24-70mm 2.8 the other day and hated it. Just though it was too slow but I am alway used to primes now.

Haven't heard a whole lot of stuff on the 6D but for the money, I would get the old 5D Mark 2 instead. I mean unless video is that important cause I know that is pretty outdated on the 5D but it still packs a punch for the price now. Only real downside that I see from having it is the focusing system sucks at times. It's just really slow and was fixed on the 5D Mark 3.

thanks, yea i started out looking for 5d mark ii's, for the past year or so reading about it and stuff. eventually just decided the 6d made more sense. SD cards, better in low light, better auto focus, the wi fi thing may be cool to use as a remote. Also the 5d mark ii is out of production so you can't buy kits anymore, buying the 6d + lens as a kit it will probably end up costing me only a couple hundred more then a 5d mark ii + equal lens.also the 6d is newer, will depreciate slower and retain value better. 5d mark ii has better weather sealing and thats about it. 5d mark iii is crazy expensive for the slight improvements over a 6d.

a glaring issue i've come up against is this 'moire' bullshit. everyone says the 5d mark ii and 6d its atrocious, but i dont know how much that will really come into just filming skating. i know josh stewart uses a 5d mark ii for his Ride channel stuff and i think it looks pretty good.

also what fisheye should i buy for filming skating.
I;m sure i;m not the only dc/monster/subaru type guy here

great shots dave!
really stoked for you, matze. the moment i saw that pic of you in front of the gallery, in shorts and adiletten, i knew it was business. hope to see some pictures of that soon.

spent the weekend in italy, had my first go at those popular long exposures. time to get a better tripod, and something to distract my girlfriend while i sit somewhere for 30minutes, trying to figure out how to make stuff not look too shitty.

this was my first shot. wasnt happy, tried finding a better position. "are you done yet?" next time i?ll go out alone.

I really love how these look. Not sure if you put them together in a foursome like that on purpose, but I think it really adds to them when they are situated like that.

I lost a roll of film in the snow for a few weeks and found it again once things started to melt a little. It ended up working fine with some cool colors around the edges of some photos and only the first 2 were completely ruined.

^^^Damn. Car is oddly clean though. Nice capture.

I rented the Canon 85mm f/1.2 this weekend but hardly used it due to me being sort of smashed after a wedding Saturday. Love the lens though but you'd figure that something that cost 2k better shoot some special type of shit. I might get it if I knuckle down and save some money.

love the golden shot!

aw, the 85 1.2 is a heavy beast. i recently got the 85 1.8 and even though i thought that i would never ever like that focal length, it has really grown on me. especially since the image quality is amazing, except for some PF.
