You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Those portraits are solid on his website.

But the project on Class of 99 turns 30 makes me sad. That was when I graduated. So of those guys looked seasoned.

Well I'm glad you didn't say the guy with the read beard looks seasoned.

I love the last picture in that series, the one of the guy in the church.

Actually it just a sort of knock on my own age and realizing I don't look like a 20 year old. Like my receding hairline would fit perfect in that photo series.

The knocked over tent one is good. I have yet to be on a fire assignment where there isn't at least 1 tent that is abandoned/destroyed in camp. And I mean it's there for the entire 14 day roll.

I hear you, I was class of 2000, so I get the same feeling when I look through those.  I just made that comment because I forgot that the first photo in his portrait series is of me when I grew my beard out and looked crazy a few years ago, so I kind of shocked myself when I clicked on it after reading your previous post.

Ok so it's not photos, but I didn't know where else to post this little video.  Spent a few hours at this giant carnival that I posted a few shots of last week.  Was hoping to get out there at night again to take some videos but it just didn't happen, either way, check it out:

i wondered that too.  Does it use the same principles as photo where when shooting in RAW it gives you more control over the file?

Yeah basically every frame of video is a raw image file.  What you end up is an image sequence.  So you can push the colouring in post way more.  Basically you colour one image in Adobe Raw, then past the metadata on every frame.  Then export the whole sequence into a quicktime file.  The workflow is insanely tedious and long, and the the file says in gigantic.   Basically a 64gb card only holds around 12 minutes of footage.

Now that the Panasonic GH4 is shooting raw at a much cheaper price, and way better workflow/file size, I'd say that would be the way to go if you want to shoot 4k.  But if you already have a 5d, I'd highly recommend hacking it and playing around.

Damn...that's not a lot of footage for 64GB.

So is shooting RAW practically shooting 4K? Or is like a tad short of it? Man.....I almost want to try that on my 5D but I know my computer won't be able to handle it.

I think it's basically the same as raw, but slightly less.  It still give you a 1920-1080 image, but there is just so much more info stored in each frame.   The detail it picks up is nuts.

Would never want to shoot with this for anything else other than for fun.  Would be to chaotic to do for a paid job.   If you have a 5d, I'd say install the Magic Lantern anyways, there are so many other cool features that it puts on your camera.

Went to the most epic waterfall of my life today. It's 226 feet tall and I took a ton of photos of everything around it, but for some reason, this closer up photo of it was my favorite with the light pouring in. Also, I did zero post production on it. I usually mess with stuff in Lightroom or photoshop, but I got lucky with the right settings for how I wanted it to turn out.

That's lovely dude. Those lights pockets are crazy, particularly considering no post work.
