I don't know, I'm 31 and not far from Gino's age and I just don't get how he expects everything to just fall in his lap (career wise). All he's gotta do is throw together a small amount of footage a year and be paid... come on. He's got filmers at his disposal, if he's shy about being seen he can go hide out at the Berrics, if he needs inspiration he can load up his IPOD with some old hip hop. I wish he'd get back to business and quit making excuses.

Um, please take a look at the two words preceding your out of context quotation. It is possible to have a perception of a person without ever meeting them.

Are you fucking kidding me though? He has been locked up a million times, has been/still is heavily involved in drugs, and has gone nuts on plenty of tours and shit. He also gets paid bundles of money, and has one of the most coveted shoe deals in skating, yet his total career's footage spans about two normal length parts. I am in love with his style, but the guy is as clear of an example of milking it as it gets.

But who cares about any of that? I am sure he is a stand up guy, because he has flawless varial heelflips.

The thought of skateboarding having some type of rigid standard as far as videos or photos are concerned bums me out.
Gino is one of a select few who should have a board out if he wants, regardless of what he does.
Being a professional skater will always be more about marketing than skill. Look at some of the people out there with there name on a board. The infamous doug brown being the best example. It's all subjective as to what it takes to make it in this industry.
Some do it based purely on skill, others have a crazy persona and for a few just the name alone sells decks.
I'm not sure why people feel the need to call them out. If no one cares then they fade away, obviously in gino's case he has a deep enough fan base to want his board and chocolate see's a reason to keep it in the line..

i totally agree...but slap is like a skate shop thats open 24/7 and always full of people wanting to talk about skateboarding. it generally leads to over analyzing everything when theres nothing left to talk about.

I met Gino on the Hot Chocolate Tour and he wasnt skating and just talking about how his shoes were based on soccer shoes or something and seemed to be completely over skating. I was bummed at the time, but he had some of the best footage in the video. I'm sure for the Chocolate video he won't have much footage but some standout tricks. Like the Nike video, I saw it once at a skatepark and I still remember that backlip kickflip out.
