I've been very lucky to have a December with my boyfriend ! we live a few hours apart , which has been heavy; it's so hard for us to move in together when covid has taken away any scraps of financial stability and housing opportunities, so for now bunking together wherever we can in a safe bubble for a month at a time is our personal paradise The rest will work out in time !

We've also been recording a black metal album together this month and shit is COLD sooo I'm mad stoked on that

Hard flip has never been my trick. Landed two about 7 years ago and never really tried since. But I randomly tried some yesterday and they were actually rotating! Stoked to get out again and dial them in.

did a nosegrind on a decent sized ledge today for the first time in about a decade.  I've had a real bad mental block with skating for over 10 years due to some bad health stuff I went through, and skating has been really up and down.  I havent been able to feel comfortable on my board and have been terrified of simple shit.  I've been working hard the past year on getting it back, its starting to come together this past few months.  For just a second I felt like my old self before my illness took my life to a bad place.  Its weird how these small things can cause a flood of memories and feelings you forgot you ever had.

When drunk online shopping turns out good.  I was about to buy all this winter stuff I needed on Amazon.  Sweatpants, sweatshirt, gloves, beanie/toque/winter hat, socks, underware, etc.  I have a dresser in my basement I hardly ever use.  I opened up a drawer yesterday and found brand new two pair of NB sweatpants, one NB crew neck sweatshirt, a nice pair of thin winter gloves, a hat, a six pack of Dickies socks, a three pack of CK boxer briefs, all in the plastic. 

Drunk summer/fall me was looking out for winter me.

Same here, went skating alone the day before yesterday and just went around a few spots I've seen around, felt great just skating the streets on my own and having a nice effort doing stuff out of the comfort zone(skateparks).

Weather forecast for today was rain but when I woke up the sun was out at 46F so I squeezed in a session until the rain started, even got a clip of a three trick line at the last try when the rain already started to fall. Temperatures are now dropping below freezing for the rest of the year with snowstorms so I am thankful for this unexpected pre Christmas gift

having fun and progression. went skating with a homie for the first time yesterday and got hyped. I always skate alone, especially these days, but the homie was like "oh, you should try this... try that. you can do that." Low and behold, even though it was all low ass shit, I was landing everything I tried. I might sound like a kook, but man, I'm hyped that after not seriously skating for so long that I'm learning/landing pretty much whatever I try pretty quickly. granted, none of it's crazy and all on curb cuts, low ledges, and really just basic shit, but for the first time since I was a kid I'm thinking about how as long as I stay healthy, how fucking sick it will be go rip it up in the city. Like making a comeback into my skate life with a better level of style/technical ability at 35 than any other period. serious stoke.
