The weather is a brisk 77 this morning after months of 105-110 with 100000% humidity… feeling like the perfect skate weather

Despite a few minor annoyances, things are generally going good for me. My new job has good hours that allow me to skate regularly and I'm lucky enough to have a solid apartment to myself with cheap rent. Plus my car is almost paid off and I have no other debts. Also drunk

Just got so excited over the idea to eat a bunch of edibles Sunday and take a bath in total darkness.  Either in silence,  maybe dark jazz,  maybe Enya or something else ethereal

Discovering new-to-me hardcore bands and coming incredibly close to landing a trick I’ve been dreaming of lately. I hope I can land it tomorrow.

I was thinking about quiting my job in the last month or so. Two weeks ago, I had an interview with this production company for a position I really want, basically my dream job. Right now, I work in a marketing agency as an account manager.

Last week, we found out that one of our biggest clients, who basically pays 1/3 of company paychecks every month, will be exiting Slovakia and Czech Republic all together, so they are dropping all marketing agencies, ours included.

This meant that last wednesday, around 10 of my colleagues, and myself included, recieved our 2 months notice. The guy was that I did the interview prior, for the new job, was on holiday, and told me to wait till this week for another meeting and we can talk details.

Anyway, we met this monday, and he offered me the position. So not only I got a new job, which Im super looking forward to, I didnt have to quit my old one, because I got fired and will be getting my severance pay too. I will miss my colleagues and feel bad for them, but it couldnt have gone better for me.

What a feeling when you check the tracking on a package and it's out of country still when you go to sleep and then when you wake up it's already out for delivery in your city. Shoutout FedEx

Started working out Sunday just doing leg strengthening with a leg press at this pretty sick little community center where they offer a full weight room and climbing walls. Maxed out at 120lbs and felt incredible skating the day after. I think I need to sign up for an actual gym now...

Everything I been working on since before covid is paying off finally.

9th and 10th I'm in studio

16th I'm playing a show on a farm in NH.

The next one is call punktoberfest and I'll have a stack of albums to sell and free T-shirts to give away.

I'm definitely about to start a new job. I just met with them and it's looking so good. I'm not going to even talk about it cuz I'm incredibly frightened of jinxing it.

Next I'm going to find a few people to cum on and boom I'm made.

My son said "da-da" for the first time. He picked up "ma-ma" a few weeks ago, so I've been pushing for my props since then.

I came back from a 4 day trip, and he said it within an hour of me getting home.

He lucked out and bought himself a few more weeks before getting sent to the coal mines.
Do you see another one of these over there?

Got paid 50 bucks not to skate the park this morning.  Commercial was shooting a bunch of BMXers (incredibly authentic to the park, as you can imagine), and it’s in a public park, technically they couldn’t prevent anyone from skating… the initial offer from their producer was 20 bucks, but the PA on the commercial had told me they’d give 50 so I complained about how my time was worth more and the offer was insulting and made it seem like I’d actually skate among all the cameras and extras - so many extraneous bodies there.  Once I received payment I went a half mile down the road to another park and had my session.
I like kooks but gnars work fine too.

Talked my way out of a parking violation while door dashing.

I despise parking patrol more than anything but today I was spared by a man with a speck of compassion left in his heart.

I will be laminating the voided ticket to preserve it so I can flaunt it the next time some jackbooted thug claims themselves powerless, unable to reverse the evil they do.

My wife got a big pay raise at work, finally making 6 figures. Hopefully that will be enough for me to quit my 2nd job cuz I have been really exhausted and burned out from working 2 jobs.

A bit ago I quit my job because it was way too stressful and i had problems with the way the company was run. I definitely didn’t tell the full truth when coworkers asked why i quit because it just never felt worth it.

Anyway, talked to an old coworker today who left around the same time and she echoed my feelings about the company. Not necessarily “stoked” on this, but it was nice to finally have an honest conversation with someone who went through some similar shit. Validation feels nice

My vacation starts October first. I’m going up to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver for a week each, then I’ll have one last week to spend at home. So Pacific Northwest heads please hit me up!

Also I’m going to see The Chameleons on Wednesday. Hyped

Made a conscientious plan to try to get healthier a couple months ago. Did 45 days with no alcohol, working out every day, walking at least 12,500 steps a day and trying to eat healthier. Went from 196 lbs to 178 and gained some noticeable muscle (I was working out a little since about 3 months ago). The wife and I had an overnight away from the kiddos and had drinks again for the first time. I feel like when I don't have a plan, I just fall back into similar patterns before, so I kind of want to do another bigger stretch of no alcohol and working out. The only bummer is I think my workouts are causing a back injury I had in January flare up because I'm having a decent amount of daily back pain. Not sure what the next step is, but felt good to make a plan and stick to it in the short term.

Listen to your body. If your back is messed up you can always focus on exercises that don't use that muscle group or cause pain. Ive had to really learn that one as I've gotten older because once I have a routine I hate to break it and I'll just try to keep doing the same thing every day and never really heal. Variety is the spice of life and all that shit.

I used to just push through everything but during the pandemic I had food poisoning and threw up so violently that I pulled a muscle in my back which brought on a pretty bad case of sciatica. I couldn't even push without wincing pain and a burning sensation running down my leg. I bought one of those resistance band sets and looked up stuff I could do while sitting at my desk at work and just concentrated on that and stretching/basic yoga poses for about a month until it finally started to get better. Once it did, I found that all the new exercises had improved my balance and body control and I was skating better than I had in a long time. Now I'm a lot more attentive to recovery and stretching/warming up before I start working up a lather.
