Just got an email from this company I did some consulting work for from May-August.  They did paper checks for consultants.  According to the accounting dept. I have an uncashed check out there for $3,200.  Don't know how I missed that one.  I'm getting it now.

Plans for it?
Everytime I come into money I'm reminded of George Costanza:
"Jerry, this is found money, I don't wanna save it!"

I'm a responsible adult.  I've got a mortgage and bills.  Plus a two year old daughter.  No fun for me.  Plus I'm looking for a full time gig.  Independent consulting is too fickle when you have responsibilities.  Or I could just head to the local casino and put it all on black.

"Always bet on black"

For reals though, it must be a massively decent help at the moment (especially as I'm assuming you mean US dollars).

Yeah, US dollars.  I was working a few different projects at the time and can't believed I spaced on this.  Usually when an accounting dept. contacts you it's not a good thing.  Will definitely cover the month's mortgage, bills, kid stuff (Gymnastics and Swim), and maybe a nice dinner out.

Good news in dark times! I had an Animaniacs PC game when I was a kid... maybe got it in a cereal box or something, but it was so good.

Tonight, right now, feels like the best night of the year. It's windy but warm and the streets are quiet cause of the lockdown but somehow the people I do see all look like real people, like I could have a chat or an adventure with any one of them. Skating was good earlier but I broke my ass, don't know why I feel so good really, but glad that I do.

Got the job

Working on a land preservation with housing provided. They made it seem like the house was shitty and it would be rough to live in. Went today to take a look and the house is way bigger than I need. 3x bigger than the apartment I moved out of. Amazing condition, renovated. Straight up something you would expect to pay 300,000 easy given the location and layout. Has a ladder you can climb to a little nook, an open floor plan, southwest style modern adobe, bedroom is sunk in, big full kitchen, outside walled patio, and its smack dab in the most beautiful scenery in the So Cal Desert.

New job working with nature and large accommodation?!?! I don't know what job you did in the past but this is a fucking upgrade 10x over.

BIG SHALOMTK BLESS

Not as big of a win but I finally bought my BS Tailslide to a proper height ledge. My BS tricks have always been trash but I made a bucket list of tricks I wanted to do this year. Took me 20 tries to work up the nerve to approach a ledge this tall blindside, and another 30 to roll away with 4-5 coming out fakie. Shout out to the guys on the Trick Tip section, I'll post up the clip there.

I might trade the job for a back tail lol.

Honestly I've been through a lot of hard times, and I was saying today it feels like I finally get to collect. Shalom, and congrats on the backtail, beautiful trick.

Hell yeah @50mm congrats!

Just had an interview on Friday that could change my life; feel uncertain about it but I hope it works out. Either way, perseverance is key.

Big shalom!

Got an island staycation going on with the wife. Beautiful day out and I'm sipping whiskey at 2 in the afternoon at a fancy hotel for our wedding anniversary.

Big ups shalomie! Any brain zaps? When I weened off my cocktail of anti-depressants a few years ago the zaps were such a constant pain in the ass to deal with.

Thanks! It took me about four months. Fortunately I didn't experience any brain zaps. Can't say I feel any better or worse. My emotions have slightly intensified which i'm enjoying whether they are good or bad. I'm up for the challenge of working through this stuff without meds and i'm stoked to have it out of my system.

Congrats dude! That sounds dope as fuck. I dream of getting back to the U.P. some day.

Stoked to be closing on my new place this week, gonna be closer to my job and this place has a fully finished 24x36 barn with gas heat. Can't wait for the mini-ramp sessions this winter.

i had bought a pair of kalis s on sale that i thought didnt fit so i just chucked them in the closet because couldn't return. Today i noticed that the insoles were too big and they bunched up at the front and once i cut them off the fit perfect.

Just wanted to say it’s dope to see people supporting each other the way I see around here. Life can throw some shit your way but it helps to know there are decent people out there.

Have come around to get tips in the past but haven’t posted until lately. I’m 40, female, grew up mostly in New England but have lived in various places around the US since.

Destroyed my ankle not long ago and am still building it back up, but am stoked this little crew has somehow sprung up around me after I helped a kid with a couple of tricks outside my house last year who I saw wipe out one too many times.

It grew to be six randoms who didn’t know each other before, ages 11-16. We’re all bros now and I love seeing the next generation outside my house after school even though we have to somewhat keep our distance now due to the virus. They know they can come around here and no one will hassle them, I wish I had that when I was learning to skate as a kid so hopefully it’s a positive thing for them.

Have a good day everybody
