I finally have a car again after 2 YEARS!!! I live in a place where public transportation sucks, and I was (not kidding) spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars a month to get back and forth to work using uber. I feel like I can start a life again. the idea of just being able to get a gym membership, to go grocery shopping when I need to and it not be a huge ordeal, to not have to sit in some random dude's cologne and make small talk after working all day... I haven't been dating the past few years and not having a car has played a major factor in that decision.

tonight was the first night I was able to drive home from work tonight completely alone, in total silence, actually decompressing.  I am feeling very grateful tonight.
That is really awesome and something I totally take for granted. I also live in a place with terrible public transport and your descriptions paint such a vivid picture….I can almost smell that dudes cologne.

Got a second job since the first doesn’t have many hours. It’s such a relaxed environment and the hours are perfect for me. So stoked

my last post in this thread was about how stoked I was to have a car again...

last sunday as I was running some errands I noticed steam coming out of the hood. I park and pop it open, and there's radiator fluid EVERYWHERE! I get a tow... yadda yadda...

turns out I had a crack in the heater hose, and guess what, pals? I fixed that motherfucker myself this morning! first repair I've ever done on a car. it was a son of a bitch to get my giant man hands underneath the distributor cap to attach one side of the hose, but with patience, I got it done!

kinda proud of myself, ngl.

My nephew Jimbo's first time on stage in Cambridge

I'm so happy. We been able to keep the love of performing music alive in the family since WW2.

I don't got any info from before that.

I can clearly see it will continue in the future even if I'm not here anymore

I posted in the books thread yesterday about the book Gidget, which is about a young girl learning how to surf with these older guys. Its a pretty sweet story and I enjoyed it. Anyway, today I randomly got invited to surf by this dude who is super good, and he came out with his 12-year-old niece. He's been taking her out tandem since she was like 2, and she can surf by herself now, but they went out together anyway. They were super good and having lots of fun, and it was pretty much exactly a scene out of the book I just read.

Just learned that texting "pew pew" on an iphone will make it go bonkers.

I actually bumped into this Easter Egg without a road map. Texted someone pew pew and my phone started going off like it was NYE.

Right on! I can’t imagine how hard that is. Keep it up!

Finally some snow, and I live on a hill. The first snow from earlier this week has compacted underneath this 5 inches of fresh snow. I’m gonna take and old deck and try snow skating down the hill. Should be awesome

Lookin' good bud.

I'd say drive with your hip more, it'll give you a better whip. Hip flexibility is key.

Look how Luke Rockhold does his. Love him or hate him, he's got the best question mark kick in the game. Izzy has a damn good one too.

See how he really puts his hip into it ? That's where the power comes from.

Just got back from a weekend golf trip to Tampa (got a 1 hour skate session in at bro bowl too) with some good homies. Weather wasn't that great, but stumbled upon Gasparilla which was a trip!

My stomach hurts from laughing so much. Shout out to good friends and good times!

Good job bud !

It took about 3 weeks for the actual cravings to go away in my case.

The hardest part for me was kicking the little habits I had developed. Lighting one up as I got in my car, spending my lunch breaks at the smokers' spot at work, lighting up every time I smoked a joint or had a beer, smoking due to stress at work etc...

I didn't smoke for as long as you though, so the little habits might be harder to kick.

Been a bit over 10 years, the smell makes me nauseous now. You got this !

It started with getting covid.. After a week of feeling like shit I skated for 30 minutes and couldn't catch a breath.
After that i started coughing so bad, it felt like my lungs are collapsing. I basically just stopped right there. It needed something that kills my vibe for cigs completely.
I stayed away from stress for a while, took a few days of work and shit..

Ah yea I feel this.. The little habits man.. Mostly after meal, morning coffee.. But work break is the hardest one.
I now just make fresh tee and go a few steps arround the building.
Thanks man I do my best.

Apologies for the double post here, but I'm swimming in bliss this morning. One of the most gorgeous women I've ever had the luck of briefly dating back in my early 20s hit me up last night and things picked up right where they left off. I'm still in shock.lmao what is my life.

Username change to meaningful mess incoming? Good for you man!
