i agree with most morrissey solo albums. while there is definitely some good material post-smiths from the moz, it's few and far between for me. morrissey was not the smiths. that is my biggest problem with the legion of hipsters who think they love the smiths. the music was what made them, and i think that johnny marr should be a lot more famous than he is today. the jangley guitars were pretty much the illest, and crossed over to bands like suede and other britpop gems in the 90's. anyway, yeah, so morrisseys solo albums sometimes sound like stadium rock tunes with his voice added to it, which is not cool. ALSO, i nominate the Stone Roses second coming. how? i mean really how? the self titled debut is easily one of the top 5 albums of all time for me, and many others. but that second album is legitimately not even good (imo). i understand it was probably impossible for them to match the first, but i mean, i would settle for a decent album.
