most morrissey albums

some of people have told me this, i like almost all of his stuff but the thing is his solo work will never come close to even touching where the smiths were and that is what everybody compares him to. One of the major reason the smiths broke up is because morrissey wanted to move in a different direction and his solo work shows that is what he is doing.

i agree with most morrissey solo albums. while there is definitely some good material post-smiths from the moz, it's few and far between for me. morrissey was not the smiths. that is my biggest problem with the legion of hipsters who think they love the smiths. the music was what made them, and i think that johnny marr should be a lot more famous than he is today. the jangley guitars were pretty much the illest, and crossed over to bands like suede and other britpop gems in the 90's. anyway, yeah, so morrisseys solo albums sometimes sound like stadium rock tunes with his voice added to it, which is not cool. ALSO, i nominate the Stone Roses second coming. how? i mean really how? the self titled debut is easily one of the top 5 albums of all time for me, and many others. but that second album is legitimately not even good (imo). i understand it was probably impossible for them to match the first, but i mean, i would settle for a decent album.

Pretty much anything Bowie made after Diamond Dogs, too many bad Bob Dylan records to name... I can't say I necessarily "hate" their records but I sure as hell don't enjoy them.

Which was too bad, because it had a good title and it had potential.

ALSO, i nominate the Stone Roses second coming.

Ian Brown is playing here in a month, I'll probably go just for the Stone Roses songs...

i watched him recently performing i wanna be adored, and seriously he was just shouting into a microphone like i would be doing if i were trying to get people to move out of my way. no rhythm or notes, just BLAH BLAH BLAH. thank god the first album was recorded, his voice is comparable to angels or anything else that symbolizes perfectness.

I was in Brooklyn and I saw a street poster for Biggie duets and someone took a pen and wrote a speech blurb saying "Pimp me to death yo."

It was very appropriate. Fuck "Diddy". His whole career was made off of Biggie.

I forgot about that footage. I don't care for Suge Knight but he was totally right about that. Diddy is the definition of an ass kissing coat tail rider. A music industry goober who leaches and piggy backs on talented peoples success.

Bad Boy sucks. They were never really that ill anyway. What good artist have they had besides Biggie?

 No one.

Post-Elephant White Stripes albums all blow, which is unfortunate.
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam was a disappointment to me. I wouldn't say I hate it, but Feels was way better.

i actually liked strawberry jam alot.

Strawberry Jam is my favorite. I can't stand much of the earlier stuff (i.e. Danse Manatee). Maybe I just need to give it another listen. Something about Strawberry Jam though, it's like the songs make just enough sense to draw in new listeners.

For sure, one of my favourite bands but that album is definitely overhyped, there are some definite gems like Sunday Morning and Run, Run, Run but all the Nico songs are weak (minus all tommorow parties) and sound so so much better on 1969 with Lou singing them. Heroin live is 1000x times better.

With all of Weezer's new stuff I'm almost embarrassed to be a fan of them.
The Red Hot Chili Pepers after they got sober....
Nas' new stuff sucks pretty hard....
Most of the new Arcade Fire stuff....
As much as I hate to say it....the new Outkast cd =[
