Goodbye isle, at least you didn’t sell off the company and act like you didn’t know anything about it unlike Bill weiss and louie barletta, i’m sure they were soo clueless, no one knew it was gonna happen… Riiiight
[close]

weiss and barletta probably out there daring everyone to play them a game of skate for the right to be shitheads about selling out.
[close]

or better yet, start another 2-3 companies under sidewalk distribution just to build it up and do the same thing in 5-10 years and act clueless about getting paid out. Except they won’t even make it that long this time. Must be nice to proxy all the young skateboarders to do all their dirty work while they make money and check the numbers. barletta being banned from selling on ebay and admitting it on a youtube video and trying to make new accounts under other fake names is all you need to know about the guy
[close]

i could not have said it better myself

I love Louie but that sounds extra shady!
Post a link to the YouTube video if you can.

Stupid ass thread.

Mainly because it led to me being reminded that krux trucks still exist.

I try my best to forget.

There was a video on the Krux/NHS YouTube made by Alex White where she and some Krux pros and friends tested the various trucks. By the end, it was obvious that the Krux were terrible and everyone involved preferred Ace. The video was up for a few weeks and then, as far as I can tell, was scrubbed from the internet.

I remember that video. I could see them seeing the mass exodus/firing from krux in the future and just saying fuck it and put out the product hit piece.

I remember when I first started skating like 20 years ago I wanted to try like every brand. I would always switch it up when i needed to replace something and I remember buying krux and having the axle snap off on a flat ground kickflip within a few days of buying them. I just remember after that happened I was like yeah maybe I shouldn't try new things and just stick to thunder and spitfire lol

So you telling pro skaters to “get a real job” would be like someone telling you you should “get an age appropriate hobby”
Damn! You got me! Caleb and ish don’t listen to this old head that i really am. Don’t get real jobs, just keep on grinding till you hit pro status! you guys already invested so much time and money, you might as well keep chasing… Right ?!

I’m not sure what you mean with the greater than sign, but these have been made in China for a while now.

What’s weird about the whole krux not turning thing, is that’s been the complaint for as long as I can remember. Through multiple redesigns.

I wonder why it hat haven’t just rebuilt the truck from the ground up.

Why even bother having a second truck brand? Independent is probably the “best” brand in all of skateboarding.

How does a bubble take a poop? Were you high on nitrous when you made this thread?

Brand that started on the no one of a recession ends on the no one of a recession. Idk if this is the death note for the skate industry. This is just nature correcting itself. Ace should have died in 2008 when the economy crumbled.

For sure the current climate makes for some interesting questions production wise globally. But it's weird watching people act like this is it. Every decade there's some new economical/societal challenge that's gonna mean death for skateboarding and it never happens. Skateboarding is too big to fail at this point. For sure we might lose some niche brands and smaller passion projects. You may have to accept lesser quality or questionable manufacturing moves from your favorite brand and I'm not saying that's good. But it's not the end. Skateboarding been here plenty of time. It may not be a good time but it isnt end of times. People were saying the bubble was gonna burst long before we were even in the Olympics but realistically skateboarding isn't going anywhere.

Trump and co suck they are making a havoc of the markets for sure. But it would not hurt for manufacturing to return to the states. Especially if both China and US are play the tariff game. And if US get its way and charges astronomical container rates. Between that and them trying to get away from foreign lumber usage. On paper it could work out a positive for brand her based in America who want to manufacture in amarica and employ American workers. Thats a pipe dream I know. And thats not gonna happen. But it is a byproduct of everything going on people don't realize. So many industries that could be jump started by these stupid economic fighting actual benefit skateboarding. Rubber/plastics, maple, steel/aluminum, with everything going on skateboarding companies in America aren't in all that bad of a spot if they can weather the storm that is.

It's bad. But it isnt awful.

It’s such an odd and funny choice. A popular, small family run brand with a “team” of pros who are paid in polyester beanies are going to suffer most of all. Not like NHS who are still, for some reason, paying to import Krux Trucks to be sold on clearance or arranging another collaboration with Go-Bots. Not a board brand with 36 pros. Not apparel makers flooding the market with another thousand pairs of baggy corduroys.
