i was working at a skate shop in 2022 and somebody came by with the rene matthyssen from this series. homie bought it in the mid 90’s because he wanted to start skateboarding but the gear was too expensive back then and he could only buy the deck and never got the rest of the parts, so he never started skating but kept the board around. his daughter eventually found it and liked the graphics so the guy decided to finally set it up for her. i had no idea what the deck was but the shape was very 90’s, obviously somebody on here identified it, i advised the guy to set it up cruiser style with risers and all to preserve the deck and told him to cop another deck if his daughter ever wanted to get into tricks. not really related but i thought it was a cool story. i still have the homies phone number too, maybe i'll let him know that a different deck from the series went for almost 2k in our currency lol lol

Nah don't tell him. $450 on eBay, cool. But getting the little girl stoked to ride, priceless..

I’ve been eyeing these NB# Tom Knox 440’s for a long time and still haven’t bought them. Someone else might want to scoop these up while they’re available. Very fair price.

$103 for that Vov board is a crime

[close]

Wow I can't believe I missed this one.

For that price too, insane.

The firm decks don't seem to be available anywhere unless we're talking tech deck versions, same with vov decks.

Though I was surprised to see more from these guys https://westernskateco.com/search?q=the+firm&options%5Bprefix%5D=last bunch of Matt beach and vov for a lot more than this

Is that what firm is worth to people these days?

If super bb was a few hundred less maybe I'd consider it? I understand they are rare but damn  :o. I just have vivid memories of Can't stop playing in my head right now

The undead angel series I have not seen or heard of and it looks like lance did the art for that series, if anyone has any more info on these decks please let me know 🙏

These dudes are TRIPPING if they think they’re selling Vov Firm boards for $1,500. They’ve got one too many zeroes.

checked out some other stuff on WSC. the prices are crazy but they have some interesting and funny stuff. adio shoes, 3D and DOG boards just to name a few. is this the shop lots of pros used to sell product to? one of decks was signed "to LA dave", think that was the name folks would reference as who would buy any/everything.

Am I imagining things or are prices down all across the board since Trump’s tariff announcements?

Vintage skate decks: a leading edge recession indicator?

100%. I have been legitimately shocked how low some things have been, aside from the classic big ticket items, and its been consistent since the new year. Also seeing things available that most people would usually clutch

lol i think these ones were posted as examples of the opposite end of the spectrum. Ollie's dwindle board prices.

Yeah I kind of appreciate the perspective.  I would not think a bufoni B board would be worth much.  But I'm surprised it didn't get $40.

The conspiracy theorist in me has long suspected the Chinese are making knockoff vintage clothes and bootleg nikes. Lets hope they never get into skateboard decks

Luckily it would be too difficult. It's easier to bootleg something current to match the production model as much as you can, but for instance, let's say someone wanted to copy an Alien Board, we could look for a PS production number, or some kind of stamping from Prime as far as old world stuff goes. They would really have to do their homework to an insane level

how common are fakes? aside from people reusing old slick skins and heat transfers, I haven't really seen many obvious fakes.

I personally have never heard of any. Also, you would feel the density in the wood is off or the plies would not match or something. It also wouldn't make sense from the bootlegger's standpoint because you need scarcity to keep high prices. It would be random as fuck if there were a bunch of Jason Lee Burger King boards out of nowhere or something like that.

The Toy machine board is only here because I thought about getting it, until I saw the bushings.

AK47 and Beavis board is so sick.
I am Cornholio!

Edit; these aren’t on eBay, but seen on a Danish used market page.
