Such a stupid move I think

I hope the best for the dude but all companies are struggling, so leaving something THIS established cant be good

Primitive almost went under last year cause an employee embezzled 3 mil - primitive is probably the least stable big company right now especially since their soft goods ain’t popping like they used to to pad them.

which employee? How did this happen?
[close]

(According to the story) Some guy in the office-side.  Not a skater or someone anyone would know
dang I heard they had money issues but had no idea it was from embezzlement I thought it was just the crazy collabs failing to sell

I’m guessing he didn’t get a check for awhile so he dipped, with a shoe contract, you know he’s going to go somewhere…

They seem to be adding guys but….he could move some Krooked boards guaranteed…..

they have to have zero accounting controls in place to allow somebody to syphon off 3 million within a few years. which would make sense since it sounds like paul and heath hired all of their idiot friends to be in operations.

Didn't Ellington say the same thing happened to Baker or their distribution company many years ago? Wild

at 10:30 reynolds alludes to this. Says it was around 50k.

sounds like its going to be a new brand which is awesome because i am a big fan of his graphics and I think they would be a welcome addition to whats out right now if i am being honest. It would be kind of like a 2026 toy machine. Are there other companies where the aging pro / owner draws the graphics?

Anybody else noticed how he started to dress more the way he wants instead of just rocking the clothes his sponsors give to him for free.
He wears lots of bandmerch now, alot of Mortician shirts, which I back a lot. I think he is evolving in to what he really wants to portray instead of acting as a billboard for his sponsors. So I really think he will start his own thing and its probably gonna have some Goregrind / Brutal Death vibe to it.

He is going to start burning through money so fast if he's really going to try to do a full on company. Wonder if he's thinking of building a team.

he had some sort of thing on him, like a oxygen tank for emphysema or something, and a hose that run down his sleeve.

Odd Future was probably the last music group from LA I could think (I know that’s like 15 years by now) but I can’t really think of any region that has had much of an impact.  South London seemed like it had a decent scene going in the past five years but I don’t know if that’s counts as forefront

Sorry I meant since Odd Future I can’t necessarily think of a region, but I’ll admit I’m not that plugged into newer bands/artists anymore

anybody know what Franky was going for with his Mob ad on the back of Thrasher where he has a shopping cart filled with stuffed animals and mob grip? Seemed like homeless cosplay, which maybe is an allusion to him being without a board sponsor aka 'homeless' but didn't strike me as the most tasteful decision

Kids from LA are also notorious for manufacturing their image based on current fashion/streetwear trends. A few years back it was a handful of hardcore band shirts maybe a Dystopia tee here and there, then they were on the Slam Death trend line and I guess they saw enough people wearing Mortician shirts at those shows that they decided that was the next way to go. Lik a year or two ago he as goofy indie throwback boy painting his nails and wearing beanies with ear flaps. I'm just wondering when he copies Ville and gets a bunch of terrible single needle tattoos.

I dunno man, Franky has always been pretty consistent with his style even if the individual bands he externally appears to like are changing. Not that grindcore or whatever isn't having a moment, but he's always been a horror movie guy and this doesn't seem all that out of left field.

It's not like a Berle or a Cambryan level switch up.
