Man, that was great hockey! Bummed they're out but I'm def rooting for Boston to win the east now!

Would not be mad one bit to see Bergeron snag another ring. Hes ibe of my favourite players in the past decade plus.

Fuck another game 7 lol

Great win for the b's

Great game too
[close]

This game 7 might kill me. I am pretty sure this series has been everything everyone thought it would be and with Boston’s ice sucking it will probably come down to who gets the lucky bounce at the right time.

Unfortunate these two teams had to see eachother in the first round, but it’s starting to give us something to look forward to every season
[close]

Agreed.

Great fuckin series basically year after year. But I will say, I think this year the leafs have them.

With bergeron/chara getting older, and Marchand on his own somewhat, Boston is hurting. BUT, kudos to Boston hockey, because even when they dont have stellar superstars, they stay true to their style, and give everyone a hard time.

As much as I hate Boston, if they beat the leafs, I hope they go all the way to the finals in their downswing
[close]

The bruins have 3 players in the top 10 for points per game this season. They have the second best first line in the league. To say they don’t have any stellar players is a disservice to the team.

I do kind of think it’s torontos year. They just seem to have the speed this series and somehow that defense is holding up which is sincerely blowing my mind.

I hope the bruins take it, but I’m not holding my breath. They can’t seem to keep the intensity up for 60 minutes
[close]

I gotcha, I worded that wrong. I really just meant "big named stars".

Game 7 is gonna be fun too watch! Too bad it's the first fuckin series.

And I agree on the leafs speed. But we rely waaaay too hard on the goaltending of Anderson. One bad game away from a really high scoring game. Hes easily the MVP of the team, undebatable.
[close]

Andersen lives in the bruins heads right now. He’s been so good you can see players start to overthink open looks. Pasta had basically an empty net last night and turned to pass the puck, which I just think shows you the presence Andersen has in the series
[close]

It might be my biased opinion here, because I truly have blurred lines between Toronto fan, and hockey fan. But IMO, Anderson is not only the best goalie in the league, hes the best player in the league right now. And I cant remember who the last goaltender was that had such a profound effect on the team overall? It's happened lots though, maybe that's why I cant remember.

The goaltender on colorado might even be on that level which totally contradicts what I just said lol. That guy is amazing as well
[close]

lmao, come on. what a delusional pearler, not sure how you could possibly justify that opinion. lehner, grubauher, bishop & bob have all been better than andersen these play offs.
[close]

Look at Anderson's season. The leafs would be knowhere without him.

I'm not just talking playoffs here
Die hard Leafs fan, but this is absurd. He's key, but he's not Dominik Haseking them to the finals. He's a solid goalie who can give you 55-60 games with a .917 save percentage. He deserved to be in the Vezina discussion until his bad March, and even then may have still deserved a nomination.

is the bruins offense amazing? yes.  did the bruins power play offense win that series? probably.

but it should be said...

TUUKKA RASK IS AN ELITE NHL GOALIE. TUUKKA RASK IS A FRANCHISE GOALIE.  TUUKKA RASK IS A TOP 5 NHL GOALIE.

also look out for me at the game 1 tomorrow night! i'll be the dude wearing a suit under my B's jersey.

One of the best first rounds in recent memory. There were so many crazy outcomes all happening one after another. Can't believe Vegas not only choked a 3-0 game lead, but a 3-1 series lead. I'm hoping Avs can steamroll Sharks in the second round and that Jones doesn't look like his 2016 self again. Stoked for Caps and Canes tonight and hope Justin Williams can add to his game 7 legacy.

Today was nuts.
Has anything like that sharks thing ever happened before?

Kings and Blues in 1998 had Blues go on a 5 min pp and score 4 on it to win the game when Kings were leading 3-0. But it was game 3 and Kings got swept. Can't think of anything as crazy as what happened in last night's game with the pp, last minute goal, and game 7 OT.

This first round has been absolutely insane.  Knock on wood for the Canes to pull an upset.

They should be considering Firing Babcock. If not him, his two assistants responsible for the PUTRID special teams.

This is a coach that consistently outcoaches himself. I feel like he's come to Toronto and laid an excellent foundation and developed some unlikely players (Hyman for example). I have no ill will against him. He's brought structure and a great attitude to this organization but his time might just be up here.

He didn’t adjust to anything all series and the Leafs lost as a result. Absolute waste of a season imo.

Not feeling to confident about a series against CBJ, but if the Bruins could get past them I feel confident with Washington out of the picture.

I have no idea what to expect in this series.

Same. There's a statistic saying that anytime a team who went to game 7, faces a team who just swept, the team who went to game 7 wins. I know it doesn't mean a whole lot but is something to keep in mind.

I'd say it looks like the Bruins and the Blues?  I'd like to see SJ win but I'm not sold on Jones.  Man, I forgot the Islandeds even made the playoffs.....

The reason why I am starting to feel a little bit confident in the bruins is because the last two games the third and fourth line have been the lines to get it done and they are buzzing. I think next game pasta is back on the first line and it’s only a matter of time before bergy, pasta and krejci get going.

Honestly you watch the islanders and Carolina and you just think there's no way they can take Boston, or even Columbus.....
