now let's talk about bands that suck - all the bands on the later Neurosis/Isis bandwagon. fucking so awful and BORING.

I bring this bullshit up because after I burned the newest High On Fire and Black Cobra for a friend,
he recommended Mouth Of The Architect to me, so I dl'ed some records.
Gentlemen, Pelican has now been beat - there is a new "most boring" champion in the progressive sludge category-
and there a lot of fucking conteders - Mouth Of The Architect is the most fucking boring shit I've ever heard in my life.
I bet these dudes are barely aware music existed before Neurosis and fucking Tool. gross.

I've been trying to like portal because of how tight their photo is

It's looks like wild west, scarecrow, black metal.

I'm also down for the grandfather clock/mesh box headpiece

Ah, good.  I don't really know anything about metal but he has been giving stuff and I like his band.  He is the bass player/singer with a large beard as seen here:

Happy birthday Hate!! Sweet Immortal picture.  And to AAJS-Portal is good, but super weird. I've only listened to their album once. It's kinda like Blut Aus Nord where you have to be feeling it at the time in order to listen to them.

I know Josh and Betsy, and I've met a couple more.... very good people.

I just drunkenly asked my friend about it and my buddy greg said josh is one of his good friends at work. pointless? yes.

defiantly not metal but defiantly one of my favorite bands. their split with greyskull and their new album are pretty much the only gnar music ive listened to in the past few months.

^ ehh i've never been good at sorting out bands with what exact genre they'd be considered but i just love the combination of the music plus movie quotes. next time i actually have money im definitely gonna try to get my hands on some of their vinyl.

always a good choice, if you havent visited it already and dont have a record store near you that gets their stuff, heres the label/mailorder thats run by one of the guys in the band, they have all of their stuff thats in print and they ship faster than robotic empire or any of the other distros that sell their stuff.

if you like the movie samples/gnarly music combo, check out charles bronson if you aren't familiar with them already.

Thanks for the Charles Bronson link, Gnarles. Also, I like that you consider "gnar music" to be a more appropriate genre title than metal.

I'm hoping to see that Black Tusk/Weedeater tour next Monday.
