My mom bought me Rotten Sound tickets for Christmas. They're playing with Finntroll, who will be awesome to see live, Ensiferum and Barren Earth, both of whom I'm meh about. But I get to see Rotten Sound!

Yeah, my mom called to make sure that I wanted to go before she bought the tickets and I was extremely confused at first. I was pretty sure she made some kind of mistake when she was looking at the bands. I was very confused. I think they're touring together because they're all Finnish.

Ah there we go, that's the connection.  Probably gonna be a drunkfest.

Most definitely. Us Finns are good like that.

I just found out that Rotten Sound is going to do a European tour with Gaza, Nails, and two other bands I'm forgetting right now. Stupid America...

I don't always listen to metal, but when I do, I prefer 3 inches of blood, at the gates, btbam, into the moat, number 12, the black dahlia murder, dragon force, dillenger escape plan, the knife trade...

I listen to a lot of BtBaM, but I haven't really checked out DEP, only heard one song on the radio for a while and wasn't sure if I liked it; how similar are they?

agreed with the btbam and DEP albums, though im a bigger fan of the newer stuff from both bands.  the newest DEP record is really good too.  i started with the latest kylesa record, spiral shadow - i'm sure their older stuff is just as good if not better, i've definitely been blown away there.

Amazon was having a sale so I just DL'd Option Paralysis for $3.

I know ALL about Kuma's and their amazing burgers!!  Unfortunately I haven't been up to Chicago since 2005 though, so I haven't been.  I do have a friend who does burger reviews from there on a metal blog.  http://invisibleoranges.com/

the Eyehategod burger review is about 3/4 of the way down the page.  There are some more on there.  Enjoy that blog though, there are some pretty cool things on it.
Oh and this blog is awesome, thanks for posting it up. Hearing AJFA with bass is sweet.

I'm sure you know this already, but through the eyes of the dead are really good.  Also I havnt heard anything about them in a while but, by the sins fell angels are really good too. they have one of my favorite guitarists to see live.  I think this thread is going to make me start listening to metal again.  Kylesa just played where I live a week or so ago.  (I now regret not going)

I completely forgot to talk about this, but Rotten Sound was amazing. I got everyone from Rotten Sound to sign their CD for me and got two shirts. I bought the shirts from Mika, their guitarist, because he was running their merch table and I didn't realize it until after I bought everything and walked away. I apologized and ended up talking to the entire band (except their singer) a good amount of the time. Really nice guys. I was complaining about being unable to see them with Gaza and everybody in Europe and they also told me that they're planning on coming back to the U.S. for a full out grind tour towards the end of this year. I might just be hoping for things, but they made it sound like Gaza will be with them for that tour. So I'm excited for that to happen.

Just pro-ordered the new Blut Aus Nord and Rotten Sound CDs, as well as mastodon's "Live at the Aragon" CD/DVD set. Now I just have to find out where I can pre-order Anaal Nathrakh's new CD.

NEW BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME SONG CLIP!! http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/exclusive_stream_between_the_buried_and_mes_specular_reflection/
I heard this the other day, it sounds pretty rad. I like the intro.
Oh and that link kind of stinks, I like the youtube more.

I hope the part two to this album/EP comes out later this year; I don't like to wait.
I think pre-sales for this record go up soon, maybe today. It could be the first time I pre-buy something in quite a while.

The teaser video with the dog is pretty funny.

EDIT:
Here's the
Tracklist:

1. Specular Reflection
2. Augment of Rebirth
3. Lunar Wilderness
