I have not, will check out.

have you listened to Abyssic Hate? Its super bummer but kind of conventional, as in i guess very melodic.
My friend is into all this NSBM (national socialist black metal) and he keeps trying to play it for me, but seriously I don't care about black metal unless is super melancholic and fuzzy. that stuff is too punky.

I got the new Anaal Nathrakh CD "Passion" over the weekend and have listened to it a few times. It's really good. Much more blackened/deathgrind and wall-of-noise than "In the Constellation of the Black Widow." They do some interesting stuff on it with some really catchy parts that get stuck in your head. The lead singer of Bethlehem helped write and performs on one song. There are two or three short (under 2 minute) tracks that will pass muster with any good grind song. The only thing I was disappointed with was their song with Gnaw Their Tongues. It's just a minute and a half ambient outro. It's good for what it is, but I was hoping for a lot more. The two bands combined could have done some really crazy shit.

Dark Funeral is pretty rad. Was on a pretty big Black Metal kick  few years ago. Gorgoroth and Carpathian Forest were some mainstays, some of the stuff with better production can kick ass, but the fuzzy low budget stuff has it's place. These days I don't get down on metal as much.

fuck, Harvey Milk and Sleep will be fucking ridiculous. Two of my favorite bands ever.

I've been jammin' Witch Mountain a  bit the past few days.
The vocals put me off for a bit - they're sort of "soulful" female vox -
but shit, these dudes have RIFFS.

Going to go see Gaza, All Pigs Must Die, and Burning Love on Saturday at the Double Door. And this is right after I visit a microbrewery with my parents. Should be fun.

Edit: Probably going to buy this shirt.

Manowar are not that bad, its just their lyrics that suck. Other than that, music is kick ass.

sleep w harvey milk was so sick last night, it was my first time at the wlitern (theatre in LA) cool venue. there was so much smoke in there, security pretty much gave up. HM was sick and just what i expected. Sleep played a bunch of parts of dopesmoker/jeresulem and almost everysong from holy mountain. they played for almost 2 hours. best/most random part.... there were like 3 standing areas, we paid for the cheapest ones thinking that "standing room" implied the floor aka can go close to the stages, but we were wrong. anyway out of nowhere a security lady tapped me and was like "do u guys wanna go to the front?" so of course we were like fuuuckkk yaaaaa. it was amazing. i had a way better time than last time i saw them, mainly because last time i was like 200 feet away and had to leave before they ended. this time was beautiful. also was able to get a shirt this time! (had a bad experience with the merch people last time i saw them)

Megadeth is gonna release a new album in September, October or November, the name is gonna be TH1RT3EN, because its gonna be their 13th album, and Dave probably has a new obsession with that number.  Looking forward to this, I really liked Endgame, this better be good too.
