i live about 20 minutes away from Woodward (East).  i've never been a camper there, such a waste of money.  since some of my friends work there i get hooked up with sessions there.  it's always a good time.

Long pants and volleyball elbow pads will increase your comfort and get by on their equipment regulations.

there's a "Laguna Beach" type of show on Fuel Tv that takes place at Woodward. It definitely doesn't paint a flattering picture of the new young bucks poised to apparently take over the skateworld. There's a lot of second-hand embarresment going on with that show.

What about that "rad skater dude" on that shitty 6teen show on cartoon network?

fuck that guy and fuck that show. It's like animated Laguna Beach.

dude that new outdoor street looks so sick. i went 3 yrs ago with all my friends. we all got in trouble cuz some kid ratted us out for smoking weed. that place is definatly a good time though. the funniest shit is when the little kids try to do that stupid prank where they run across the camp naked at midnight and try to jump in the pool. when they come back you chase after them with a broom or some shit and dont let them into there cabin, they bug out pretty quickly because they have no clothes on.

i worked there before it had anything good to skate (except outdoor concrete). new shit looks amazing. if you can afford it or if you can get a job there, definitely do it. i got so bummed on pads though that i used to drive to the grocery store in town just to skate flatground without a helmet or elbow pads on.
i saw my grandma bail off a 4 set once in my house and she even got up and came to red lobster after.

I'd rather spare myself the embarrassment from ever being seen there and spend my time skating something legitimate. Pads? Imagine some of the kids that go there....

worked there. It would have been great if it weren't for all the kids, and the people who ran the fucking place. "Maverick" what a fucking kook. Is he still there?
At this point I would rather spend my summer skating anywhere in the world instead of a little encampment in Amish country with the world's worst and dirtiest toilets.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

how much does it cost? i heard it was like $500 a week but that seemed like a lot just for a skatepark

try more like a $1000 a week hence why i said it was for rich people.

The price includes everything while you are here; food, lodging, instruction, and a whole lot of fun! The only things that are not included are horseback riding, and spending money for the Camp Store (Canteen), and the Bike/Skate Shop. We recommend children bring between $50.00 - $100.00 for their camp bank.

I GO EVERY YEAR. ONE OF MY FAVORITE TRIPS FOR SURE. SO MANY FRIENDS SO MANY WILD TIMES. I MET KIDS THERE WHEN I WAS 10 THAT HAVE BECOME LIFE LONG HOMIES. IT WAS 1/4 OF THE PRICE BUT FUCK IF YOUR 12 YEARS OLD AND YOUR FAMILY CAN AFFORD IT, ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

dude it IS that much money.

 http://www.campwoodward.com/~uploads/2009DatesRatesWeb.pdf

its OVER 1000, plus transportation, which i didnt even include. you said you are going to week four, thats over a grand bro. pretty steep for mini ramps and hot dogs.

yeah i had 1000 dollars lots of times when i was 17 but i spent that shit up on trips and shit. seriously, go on a fucking trip with buddies, with 1000 dollars you could go to california for 2 weeks if ur down to take the bus, adn then u can skate whatever you want, drink, smoke weed, no parents, bang bitches.cant do that shit at woodward, apparently^

if you live on the EAST coast id say go to Montreal, Quebec. i would argue the street skating there rivals philadelphia in the late 90s except isnt blown out at all. also if you are turning 18 or going with a friend whos 18 you are in luck because you can drink there instead of waiting 3 more gay years in usa. i knwo there are liek 3 woodward locations now, but im assuming you live in the PA area. if you choose to go to woodward over montreal you are seriously blowing it.

its such an awesome city. if you are really down for skate parks they have the best indoor one i have ever seen in my life called "South Parc". the only downside is everyone speaks french in cabs, grocery stores, etc. but all the skaters speak english and girls your age will speak english for sure. basically anyone worth talking to speaks english there.

Montreal is the best man, concrete jungle, pussy on tap.

moving to quebec now, peace

Ohh man im so happy someone brought up maverick, that dude was the worst.  Haha i remember malcom watson gave us a bunch of stickers for heckling the shit out of him, we were 12 and saying the most ridiculous stuff to him, and he would try and play it off like he didnt hear.  He would always call heelflips and kickflips "heelflippers", another time mike v a boneless over a bench and he called it a "whoopty woo" and mike v looked like he was gonna hit him.

fuck woodward paying money to skate some kooky metal bullshit is lame. Take the cash and go on a roadtrip with your boys. Now that is a good time. Paying for someone to teach you how to skate is beyond fucking blowing it.

I used to go there. It was sick when I went there. Whoever said bang gymnasts, you're regular. If you're into girls with braces and no tits that think they're hot but are from some small shitfuck town in Maryland then bang away. Those girls suck. There was maybe one hot girl in ten and they already had boyfriends. Don't waste your time just skate.

The parks were always fun as fuck. I wish I could go back there now and skate all the new shit at outdoor street. The pros were always cool as hell. Malcolm Watson is one of the coolest guys ever. You could always chill and talk with him for like an hour about random shit. He's always there for like the whole summer.

Maverick is a douche bag.

I'd kill to skate the park itself, but I won't give a dime to Gary Ream (owner & President USA Skateboarding Association). He's one of the main cats pushing for skateboarding in the Olympics, and I have a hunch he's going to try to make a little monopoly of Olympic-certified training camps. I really don't like the corpo-douchery going on in the background.

The parks look brilliant, but the pre fab ramps they make suck ass.
