Oh man, I can talk about punk for hours. First got into it back in the 7th grade and I've been a fan since.
I'm not really as into it as I was in middle school and all throughout my high school years (been more into 80s/90s indie rock and old school rap in the past few years), but I still find myself listening to all my old favorite punk albums all the damn time.

When it comes to punk I pretty much love it all, but I definitely like early 80s hardcore(Zero Boys, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, MDC, Reagan Youth, JFA, Articles of Faith, Dayglo Abortions, etc) and early/mid 90's punk the most (Crimpshrine, screeching weasel, Mr. T Experience, J Church, Gaunt, Sicko, Scared Of Chaka, Dillinger Four, Discount, Radon, Tiltwheel, Leatherface, etc). There were so many good bands that came out of the early/mid 90s that definitely got overlooked a lot.

Also, my favorite punk band of all time would probably have to be Jawbreaker, so I also love any Jawbreakerish sounding band.

I love Jawbreaker.

You'd like Rites of Spring a lot - don't know if you're into them. They have 2 members that went on to play in Fugazi and Ian MacKaye produced them. Just that weird post-hardcore sound that really rocks. The D.C. Scene has always brought on some really unique awesome sounds.

Husker Du too.

Both of these bands are seriously ahead of their time.

They wrote this shit in 85 - rings more true today than it did back then.

@The Nose Face, I tried getting into rites of spring years ago but could never get into them for some reason. Fugazi on the other hand are one of my favorite bands of all time. I actually dig a lot of the bands that came out of DC and a lot of the bands on discord records. I've been really into lungfish lately. Check em out if you haven't yet. Been really into the evens too; i wouldn't call them a punk band, but just about any music project that Ian Mccaye touches is bound to be pretty good.

Discount and Radon... Holy shit dude, you from FLA? That takes me back to shows at 403 Chaos and Vero Beach Women's Club. Would gnar if I could.

Also, four pages and no one's mentioned our boy DP's band?

Let me know what you think.

I started off with the Dead Milkmen when I was 13, got into hip-hop, then Cali pop punk, and worked backwards. Lots of gold to find.

After the Paris terrorist attack at that Eagles of Death Metal concert in 2015, a lot of artists (U2) cancelled their Paris dates, which is understandable. Stiff Little Fingers didn't, because it was exactly what "Alternative Ulster" was about: to try and create something despite civil unrest and terrorist killings. They said that when they were growing up in the Troubles, no one would come to play Northern Ireland, and they remembered what that was like, so they insisted on performing despite everything for the sake of the people who live there and continue on. Whether or not it was the right decision is another thing, but I really respect them standing by their beliefs and not forgetting where they came from.

My old homies band is pretty good. They say it's no-wave, but it sounds pretty punk to me
