Cruiser boards??
« on: June 20, 2009, 11:48:31 AM »
ok so i need a skateboard to just ride around.  I was wondering whether a zip zinger or zap zagger would be better for this.

Also, is this a good setup for a zip zinger? (is it supposed to have low trucks??)

and is this a good setup for a zagger?

http://shop.ccs.com/catalog/productdetail/model_nbr--131107/sku--61-76068/cm--GLOBAL%20SEARCH%3A%20KEYWORD%20SEARCH/

is this board similar to these two?

sorry i know absolutely nothing when it comes to this stuff.

thanks!

I'd go with the zinger or zagger. I have the sam cunningham guest deck right now which is like a zagger and had a zinger last summer. With my zinger I had the zinger wheels with it which were nice and smooth but a little to soft for my taste. I have the spitfire 80d's on my crusier right now and they are perfect, soft but still kinda hard so you can give them some abuse.

i feel like a lot of the fun with a cruiser board is how it comes together. i'd never want to buy a premade complete even if it has everything i would buy anyways. just saying......

do it yourself. tape 3 pieces of paper together the long way, fold it in half the long way, draw half of a shape you like cut it out and unfold it so its symmetrical, outline it onto the bottom of an old deck, cut it out with a jigsaw, sand the edges, paint the bottom n give it an ill sticker job, get some old trucks, and the only thing you have to buy is 65mm zip zinger wheels. experiment with shapes and make a bunch if you got old boards lying around

I rode this guys Vision Hippie Stick a few years back, it was a cool board but the wheels were way too soft.  The guys older brother rode for Schmitt Stix, I had the vhs tape of the Schmitt Video his brother is Chuck Hultz.  I gave the video to a guy at the park who was on Schmitt flow team.  I had the Schmitt Stix Yard Stick board, when I was a kid and it had Indy 169's and Bullet 66's wheels 97a durometer.  I never understood why people put soft wheels on those boards it ruins it.

Use all old parts and get some big soft wheels.  If you got the money get some new reds for it too.
