all i know about dmt is that it lasts like 20 minutes or less and everybody i know that has done it has pretty much had a "spiritual trip"

saying that, it seems pretty intense, i would probably recommend acid/lsd if your looking for opening up your mind. Your completely conscious throughout your lsd trip and your thoughts can be controlled, i've got the impression from friends that on dmt you kind of just conk out and trip then you come back to sanity.

and.. in saying THAT, lsd/acid isnt really that big of a deal if you only do like 2 hits which is enough for visuals and shit. TV and mainstream make acid sound like you cant control yourself and you'll go on a psychedelic murder rampage.

Watch the ....On Acid series on Vice.tv, it will definitely change your mind about acid.

Yeah, I've seen those pieces on vice, entertaining fosho. The thing is, I know this chick that says she knows someone a couple towns over that synthesizes DMT and said she would be down to do it with me. So at this point, it seems like it's easier for me to get than acid, although I would like to do acid too, and could definitely get some if I looked hard enough. It's mainly a convenience thing, not a preference thing.

iv heard that doing DMT reduces the 'trip' you get before you die.. from what i know dmt is the chemical your brain releases when you die and by taking it recreationally it somehow dilutes the natural effects when its actually time for it to work.. fuck knows might be a load of shit but i wont be messing with it anytime soon!
and as Ian said above id definatly try acid first..

Only if you're ready... Being Deputy Doses, I'd recommend that you take several trips with Mushrooms (not LSD, but acid is worthy of trying... many times...). Psychedelic mushrooms (specifically psilocybin mushrooms) are more closely related to DMT than LSD.
But, having the chance to smoke DMT does NOT come around everyday. If you blast off, please come back with a trip report.

squeezethepulp: i always felt like i was down for dmt, having done acid and shrooms before and enjoyed both a lot. then i spoke with a friend who tried dmt and he says it was an amazing experience but that he is now a "trippier person" because of it. like minor, usually insignificant auditory and visual hallucinations. he doesn't regret it and only had good things to say about it, but i definitely took that "trippier person" thing as being more than negligible. this is just one source, but it's probably something you should consider before doing it.
