He should, I"d say Torey Pudwil should be considered too... but Busenitz has deserved it for like 3 years-I was seriously shocked when Silas got it before him, and i'm a silas fan.

Yeah...if Heath bangs out another good part in Stay Gold, he should be up there in the running seeing he has never won.

But I am all about Busentiz to win. Seeing how Thrasher pretty much picks who they want to win and seeing how Dennis is a SF local, he every intention to win this year. Hopefully he can put out the Real video by the end of the year and have the Adidas and Real video as reasons for winning.

Stay Gold is coming out in 2010. If there's a bunch of hype surrounding the release, Heath could win it next year. Dennis has come out with so many amazing ads this year, and his Diagonal part is amazing. His real part will be just as good, if not better.

the real video should happen this year, stay gold is looking like next year. from everything i've heard, heath does have another banger part ready and waiting for it. i don't think anybody particular is in the front of the pack for SOTY yet, phelps hasn't been flapping about it yet and he usually does when they start really thinking about people. but yeah, busenitz is on fire and it'd be great to see him take it- him and silas back to back would say good things about where skating is at these days.

If the Real vid comes out in '09 Dennis will probably take it.

Personally, I think Westgate has been killing it harder than anyone. And Leo too, that RVCA part is just too good.

Heath is amazing but if he hasn't won it yet, I'm not sure it's ever going to happen, not unless he surprises us (and Thrasher) with some new spots and a different trick selection. Sight Unseen was off the charts and he didn't get it then, and unfortunately Heath's skating is much the same as it was back then. Incredible but redundant.

Plus, Heath is such a recluse, I doubt that he'll "help the mag" the way that Phelps requires the SOTY to.

100% sure it goes to Boozey. There are others who are technically "deserving", but i don't care because this is the guy that i've always enjoyed to watch the most. he's putting out two parts and he got a pro model shoe (not just some colorway with his name slapped on). Heath will come in second (if there are even rankings for this sort of thing) even though there are some underdogs that have done big things this year so far. Kellen James comes to mind for me. he had 3 killer parts in one year, but i don't think anyone cares.

who the hell cares, it's not gonna make you like whoever wins more than you did before they won (unless you hadn't paid much attention to them until they won, and then started to afterwards). i'm not sure how the person is chosen but i'm pretty sure that jake phelps is a pretty strong factor on who gets it, and isn't the consensus on here that jake phelps sucks as a human? yet his award is so important to you guys? i don't get it.
