Damn man, I've never seen that. It looks awesome. I like Stone, but they do so many IPAs, which I don't like, that it gets hard to buy something new from them.

their regular russian imperial stout is really fucking good (and pretty affordable when you compare it to similarly rated beers in the style).  so far i've only heard great things about the espresso.  haven't drank one yet

am drinking this though:

it's alright, don't go out of your way for it. significantly better after it warms up, but there's been better barrel aged ipa's.

as far as good stuff from California though, picked these up recently

should be a good weekend

the odd year espresso RIS is good. apparently they use Ryan's Bros Coffee.

AleSmith's Speedway Stout also uses Ryan's Bros.

battle of the SD coffee stout?

should we care?

Extensive and ongoing research.

if you have a trader joes nearby that sells beer they have a great unibroue 4 pack at the moment for $7.99. it has a maudite, trois pistoles, don de dieu and la fin du monde and they're all pretty fresh. trois pistoles was one of the beers got me interested in craft and i hadn't had it in ages.

Bought a 6-pack of Founders All Day IPA

It's a local brewery that I've taken for granted. I've never tried any of their beers and will crack open a bottle when the Barca/Bayern game starts.

Shoulda bought some nachos too now that I think about it.

I have never been disappointed with anything from Founders. Granted, I'm partial to Bell's, but they both never fail.

Got a 6 of this to drink today. It's almost near beer at 3.9%, but I lost about a pint of blood yesterday (ulcer) and am drinking it for the calories (though the taste doesn't hurt) since I haven't been able to stomach more than a cup of chai tea last night. Couldn't even drink that until after I ingested some cannabinoids. But that stuffs not medicine, at all.. ::)

I'm coming from mostly big-brand lagers like Heineken and shit so IPAs are kind of weird still. I mean, I've drank Stone IPA and stuff a number of times and just couldn't get into them that much.

I dunno, it's too rich I guess. Maybe it's an acquired taste.

Also, that really hoppy stuff gives me heartburn more than usual.

try pale ales, esb's or brown ales. they are all a bit more mellow, but can have a lot of flavor. since you can get it, try the founders pale ale, dirty bastard or the porter. the porter is really good.

The last beer I really enjoyed was Lagunitas Sucks.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Ninkasi Total Domination IPA so I'm gonna have to try it whenever I go to the store again.

Some really good brews coming out of Chambly PQ

Tried the Trois Pistoles in a bottle, very rich tripel, 9% alcohol which makes you smell like Ned the Wine-o

Pretty much everything unibroue is world class, minus the blanche  ???

This is just a suggestion, so roll with it or not, but I may suggest rolling with New Castle to get acquired to a new type of taste while still being mild(er) and being a bigger name brand. Then work your way into pilsners for Lagers and Heffeweizens for ales, from there you can start being adventurous

I had some Goose Island IPA and Stone Levitation ale. The Levitation didn't do much for me, but the Goose Island IPA was very nice, very fruity.

21st amendmant's Drop Da Boom, I implore you to drink it!
[close]

never had it. details now. did you enjoy out of the can or pour into a glass? is there significant lacing if you poured? what flavors pop out and the first and last gulps?
[close]

First off, calm down man

Also I was mistaken on the title it's Lower De Boom, and it's a keg beer only. Coming in at 10.5% it's incredibly dark, rootbeer colored, tan head. Real malty and traces of dates/ raisons/ figs. Great full mouth feel. Careful though it definitely put me on my ass

I'll calm down when I'm dead......and thanks for the details

drank these over the past couple nights, had a few days off in a row and took full advantage.

i found out about farmhouse ales a couple weeks ago and realized my work had this one, it was just over 8 bucks and totally worth it. it was super carbonated and super flavorful. will buy again.

this one was pretty good but not as much flavor as Le Merle

San Miggy straight from P.I. smelled like chronic and tasted just as good.

another super tasty brew, i think this one costs 11.99 at whole foods, there is a Belgian Style from the same Brewery at my work for 12.99 i will be trying soon.
