Wow, I guess a lot of you don't care at all about the progression of skateboarding? Because the progression of skateboarding has always depended on the kids. They see the videos and take it to the next level for their generation. Those little kid rippers end up pushing the sport. Guy, Reynolds, Hawk, Way... all of these guys were the Nyjahs of their time. Hating on the future of skateboarding just doesn't make sense, and is pretty laughable if you think aboout it.

And also... I know I've heard Ed Templeton AND Mike Carroll say that they started companies so that they could make themselves pro and keep that status. No one is going to tallk shit on them for it though. No hypocrisy there, no sir. SLAP is, like, so "core"!

We will see if the company turns out to be legit or not. I'm not going to join the hate bandwagon though. The kid rips, and he could turn a lot of kids who would normally be buying element boards on to smaller, 'core' companies, or at the very least open their skateboard minds a little. Reading the comments on that article, nyjah has a lot of young fans who say they want to support him if he started a new company.

Nyjah making his own company isnt going to hurt bummer high's sales; the skaters who purchase bummer high boards, and the skaters who are looking to buy a new I&I board are dramatically different groups. The kids who would support nyjah's new company would mostly otherwise be buying element or plan b boards, not roger, 5boro, or bloodwizard boards.

I'm guessing someone in the industry that probably owns some shitty brands that sell to sporting goods stores and other crappy outlets is backing this company. Nyjahs name is big enough in contest and things that someone would be willing to back him. If it was just under he and his dad he'd probably be the only rider.

I work in Davis and just a month ago I ran into his older brother Abi who was on Element flow when he was on and he told me that his brother, sister and Dad move to Purto Rico and is starting his own thing and so I guess its true and ask him if he skated and he was all "nahh not anymore" and he was pretty good and they funny thing he's all g'd out now smoking cigarettes and shit it was weird running into him.

I don't know about starting a board company now with the enconmy all fucked and then to put Richard Jefferson? I thought he was on some Christian co with Brian Sumner?

when it's time for riley to step up to pro ranks, hopefully birdhouse will be gone or under someone else. i remember hearing a while ago about tony being a dad way back in 2000, and the only way he could discipline riley when he fucked up was to take away his skateboard...because that's literally all the kid did was skate. bright fucking future. good to see he's going starting to pave his own road rather than hang on daddys coat tails.

Good for Nyjah. Why be a rider of a company when you could just own a company. Karl watson did it, Stevie did it and they were very successful. And why do you need a company head to say your pro. All you have to do is be good at skating, promote the brand, and have his name on a board. As long as he does that he's pro. And skill why dude def deserves pro status.

Remember when we all went to skate their TF? Shit... I remember both Nyjah and Abi just killing everything when they were super young. I wonder how kids with so much talent can just stop skateboarding. It's like the older and shittier I get on my skateboard the more I want to go skate.
