Who is the first Pro Skateboarder you ever met, was he/she cool? I met John Lucero and Jeff Grosso and it made me buy all their gear. Even though Grosso was pretty much being a dick, I rocked every board company he went to. No one gives a shit if Johnny Yahoo didn't give you a free skateboard and now you hate him. Break out the facts on your first Pro encounter.

Kenny Anderson at my local park, when I was only 11 or 12. I got him to sign my Muska Kamikaze deck. Those were the days.

I met Kristian Svitak a few years back and he was a really nice guy. I still watch his old black label parts before I skate.

Tony Hawk in the parking lot at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan. 1992.

He was a part of some traveling half-pipe demo with BMX'r Matt Hoffman. They were riding a portable half-pipe and it was there as a part of some annual carnival type summer-fest thing that they used to hold in the parking lot.

The summerfest event was in town for a couple days and me and my friends ran into him again by chance two nights later. He was in an area convenience store with a couple of other people buying a case of MGD.

A small mob of kids were talking to him at the register and the Asian cashier said in a very strong Chinese-American type accent " You are Tony Hawk?! The skateboarder?! You are awesome!"

Bastien Salabanzi, the dude was skating this 10 stair by my grandmas house. Dude was ripping, did switch back 180 1st try and tried switch tre flip. Lucky that day I was wearing a flip shirt and he signed it. Im thinking about framing that shirt

the first pro i talked to was kareem campbell (we were going to smoke weed and i asked if he was down to roll. he said no). i moved to california a few years ago, and now i see pros all the time.
