Rick Howard and Gino back in 2002.  Got to see Rick do the fs noseslide at 2:55, Gino was trying switch noseslide for a few hours but didn't get it and focused his deck.  When they were done skating they gave us signed pieces of the deck and some sets of wheels.  Stand-up dudes.

I've never seen any pros but I know lots of people who are just as good they just need to film what they do on a board on a daily basis

used to skate with James Atkin a bunch back in '98-'00, but not really sure how much that counts(legitimacy of his professional status).  Met the Jump Off A Building-era Toy team at a demo in the summer of 98 I believe.  Brian Anderson was real mellow, nice guy.

Rodney Mullen under the Huntington Beach pier back in like '85. On a separate occaision, I met the entire OG Bones Brigade, minus McGill. I also met Cab separately. All those dudes are super nice.

I live in Portland now, so I see pros all the time.

Who is the first Pro Skateboarder you ever met, was he/she cool? I met John Lucero and Jeff Grosso and it made me buy all their gear. Even though Grosso was pretty much being a dick, I rocked every board company he went to. No one gives a shit if Johnny Yahoo didn't give you a free skateboard and now you hate him. Break out the facts on your first Pro encounter.

when i met him he said...'DUDE!  What's up!?!?!?!'  I think that was '87....it was rad watching him and lucero do dumb street tricks....

Brian Anderson at the Brooklyn banks right around the time Welcome to Hell came out. He was probably AM at the time?

Most memorable was in 1996 or '97 when me and my crew were skating our box and flatbar in a parking lot and some Zero dudes showed up and skated with us. Jamie Thomas, Ellington, Mumford, Adrian Lopez, and Micah Mattson.

Mumford's trick at the time was bigspin frontside boardslide and Ellington was learning them on our flatbar.

Shit man, I don't even know what "gave her a gold caddy emblem" actually means...

Nah, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular - just easy opportunity for a joke

i skated a demo with the alva team around 89. i met jeff hartsel, chris cook, murphy, dave duncan and a few of the other guys. they were all out of venice at the time and skating with them made me realize that how we'd been skating street was wack. me and my friends all started getting into g turns, slappies, wal rides and shuvs after they left were before we were more into launch ramps.
