i would imagine back then the only reason for riding for a company would have been the quality of the product, cos there sure wasn't any money to go around.

he looked really nervous in the vid, but he definitely gave it his all and tried to make it worth the user's time to actually give them a real answer to the questions. gotta love the guy

Pardon me for stating the obvious, but John Cardiel could do things that 99% of all humanity could never do. On the other hand, 99% of all humanity can smoke weed. It doesn't take any talent, it's not a special gift, it's something any loser can accomplish. So they get him to answer our questions and that's the best you can come up with? Prior to Zumiez, You couldn't get Emerica in a mall...Etnies yes, but Emerica no. Unless in other parts of the country they have other skate mall shops. Vans and Etnies were always at pacsun or journeys, but even those werent around when I was younger.
