People actually believe this garbage that because Heath isn't a media whore he hasn't put out some of the best coverage of the past year? Its called quality control- when you see footage or a photo of Heath, it will blow your mind. Who cares if Leo Romero grinds up every rail that is under knee high in So Cal and releases photos of himself constantly, it doesn't even compare.
But Heath shouldn't get it, and the only reason I say that is because Dennis Busenitz exists. The dude is everything good about skating, he skates fast, has enormous pop, he has insane control, and if you have ever seen him skate in person, you know that he is consistent as hell, and skates even faster than it seems in videos.  His recent coverage in real ads has been insane, not to mention his part in that adidas video. Anytime a new Busenitz ad comes out its a conversation piece, and the dude isn't even a traditional "hammer" type skater- he's just a beast. In an age where generic kids are starting clothing lines and getting their pictures on the cover of sears catalogs and ads in times square, Busenitz has kept the spirit of real street skating alive and well.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”

As much as Gipper and I don't agree about Wenning, he's dead on regarding Busenitz.

I think you're a great poster, one of the best.  But this is one of the rare occasions I disagree.  You say he has no tricks and he does mediocre shit with bad style.  Alright, style is subjective.  But his footage speaks for itself.. he hits the gnarliest rails, all kinds of gaps to rails, insane pop, full speed lines doing tricks across entire ledges.  And he DESTROYS demos.  So I seriously don't understand why you refuse to accept his skills.

i'm not sure i think it should be about who's working the hardest, for me it'd be more who's getting the most hype on thier footage\photos. cole lookes like a constipated ape that just raided hot topic and i don't think i can remember a single time that i've been stoked enough on any footage he got this last year that i actually talked with anyone about it. booz on the other hand has always got some clip that everyones hyped on that you can mention to just about anyone and they will instantly know what your talking about and be hyped on it. even his demo footage gets more hype than coles full parts.

O'rly? You didn't talk to anyone about the Wallenberg contest?! or the Maloof contest? 8|

The thrasher award doesn't really matter. The question is more like, "Who's skating have you liked the best over the past year?" Thrasher gives the award every year, and often its not the person others thought skated the best. Then when the subjective award comes out, we can all bitch that somebody else should have won, and that Jake Phelps is an asshole who doesn't know shit about shit. Basically, this is all just one big long set up for an annual thrasher hate fest.

And no, I've never met Leo Romero, but I would assume he is a charming and charismatic fellow. I'd assume that is how he has gotten 90% of his sponsors, interviews, and coverage.
