John Hughes RIP
« on: August 06, 2009, 02:53:25 PM »
Fucking weak, the dude was only 59.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/06/obit.john.hughes/index.html

Directed many classic flicks but Breakfast Club, Weird Science, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off were my faves.
Rest in peace dude.

BUMMER! Dude, this guy made some of the best movies ever. Just go to his imdb page and see how many good movies he was involved with. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000455/

Dude the guy fucking wrote Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Planes Trains And Automobiles, Uncle Buck, Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Home Alone, Dennis The Menace, etc, etc.

The guy was a fucking genius.

Damn......that sucks. R.I.P. The Breakfast Club is one of my favorite movies. The "John Bender" quotes in that are timeless. He made alot of good stuff in the 80's. 59 is too young.

Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off all came out within the course of 2 years (1984-1986).  Which, when you think about it, is pretty fuckin crazy. Not to mention he's responsible for unleashing Machulay Culkin on the world (i am forever grateful to him for that).

that's incredible to look back on and realize. each one of them is so good. no kid alive and aware in the '80s wasn't shaped by those movies. hadn't heard he passed-- what a bummer. the '80s wouldn't have been nearly the same without that guy. RIP.

Michael Anthony Hall was always great in his movies, too.
