Polar Dane1 shape
Indy 159s
OJ hot juice
Bones reds
mini logo risers
Shorty's hardware
mob

It's funny, to us that's a cruiser. But to Nick Boserio that's his setup he actually goes out and gets clips on! That guy is a beast, with a strange penchant for soft wheels and atypical boards.

Spot on. Nick Boserio is 100% the reason I set this up the way I did.

just found out they make 55mm super juice minis  ;D

I like the softness of the hot juice 3 on my cruiser, but the square corners suck and chip to shit in a few sessions. no big deal but it takes the smoothness of the ride -- these super juice seem to be the perfect response to that with the rounded edges

Enjoying seeing some of the smaller cruiser setups here.

Recently found this old Habitat Raymond board in my mom's garage. I remember being so pumped on this board for how pointy it was. I decided to Frankenstein it into a cruiser and it is super fun.

Habitat 7.5 x 31.25
Independent 129
OJ Keyframes 56mm
Independent risers
Shorty's 1" allen
Reds
Jessup

I’d skate that board as my main. Damn that shape is sick. Had a wenning from that era that was maybe 7.4....anyways, that shit clean. I don’t skate particularly well, in general, and possibly less so on super small boards, but they are fun to look down at. I have a close friend who stopped skating for many many years. Came back to it a few years ago and was incensed he couldn’t find any 7.5s. He found one eventually and set it up with 129s and 56s. Which he insists is how we rode them back in the day. Tall and tippy.

It is a wonderful shape, nice and flat too. I never did 7.5 on the regs but I saw that at the shop and was in love.

I for sure had homies in the 90s who skated skinny boards with big wheels...distinctly remember one of the dudes I skated with rocking a 7.5 23 Clyde Singleton with some huge 60mm-looking guys. I've never been able to do big wheels (recently tried 55s and hated it) except in the context of a cruiser.

97 sounds about right. I’d have to go back and look at Old video release dates. My favorites were trilogy and mouse, but not being in California the big wheel east coast thing was really cool to us. Not sure why we needed this combo of small boards and huge wheels....you could definitely Ollie higher with the big ass wheels, when you managed to hit your tail. I guess 8” was as large as I saw without someone being ‘that’ person at the park with the one big board. Dudes that just skated transition were riding boards less than 8”. Kinda funny

I'm just guessing, but I think Ricky in EE3 popularized the small (at the time normal) board and big wheels combo...pretty sure he was running like a 7.75" with 60mm. I know that video was super influential in my circle, though I was always the dude skating tiny wheels and dying on sidewalk cracks, winter debris, whatever.

The weather's starting to pick up so I went down to the shop and bought a new cruiser setup yesterday. Ignore the instagram text, I had to download the photo from my story.

Polar Oski 9.25
Indy 159s
Bones Rough Riders 80a 59mm
Reds

This is actually my first ever cruiser setup, I've pushed around on friends' before but it's nice to have a smooth rider of my own now.

That’s beautiful!! How’s that shape? Could we get a picture of the top?

I don't recall any Grosso shapes looking like that, but I had an AH with a cow on it that looked like that shape. I'm surprised I can't find a picture of it, but it was pretty much all wood grain with a drawing of a cow (like their 1998 video "cow").
