Sorry I was asking, in a really terrible way, what size trucks and wheels you had on that guy. I thought about picking up a Bowie board and it never happened but if I did I also woulda set it up.

i have that bowie board but i feel like it's going to end up on my wall and not under my feet. no concave and barely any nose/tail kick. i've got the jason adams bowie board on the wall currently.

The weather's starting to pick up so I went down to the shop and bought a new cruiser setup yesterday. Ignore the instagram text, I had to download the photo from my story.

Polar Oski 9.25
Indy 159s
Bones Rough Riders 80a 59mm
Reds

This is actually my first ever cruiser setup, I've pushed around on friends' before but it's nice to have a smooth rider of my own now.
[close]

That’s beautiful!! How’s that shape? Could we get a picture of the top?

Sorry, didn't see this til now. I really dig the shape, the widest part of the board being right around the front truck and it narrowing down towards the middle is really nice. I actually wasn't huge on the rough riders, they're too wide for my taste so I threw them in my trunk as a backup set and put some 56 mm 78a Ricta Clouds on it.

They're sick! They make a 56mm now I will probably get for my next cruiser set. These are the 59s. I dig the harder wheel but with a wider contact patch, so they can power slide and shit but they grip real well too unless you're trying to slide.

Krooked x BA x Humidity zip zinger
Ace baseplates, Indy 139 hangers, bones mediums
56 OJ Keyframes
Modus blues

Downsizing the cruiser, made with some fresh, some random old parts. The frankenstein trucks feel really nice, surfy and responsive. Not sold on the wheels yet, coming from a bigger cruiser with 60mm 85a bombers that powerslid quite well. Definitely miss the ability to slide these wheels going down a hill but also wanted something that looked more well proportioned for the smaller board. Would appreciate recs for soft wheels around this size/width that are slideable if that exists.

my late-to-class setup
Indy 169s, stock
55mm 86a acid chemical co. "pods"
reds and jessup
APB (Honolulu) 9"+ shop deck

they said the deck is a generator Grosso AH shape. can anyone identify it? (looks like a rounder green giant to me?)
Grossos boards are super square with super squared out rails.

keyframes. mine slid very easily once broken in.

or if you really can't jive with keyframes, you could try OJ's 'in crust we trust' 92a.
I started getting a lot better when I went back to college and started taking a lot of math classes when I was 31.

I figured out how to figure things out better, if that makes sense.

Hmm I see, I don't think I'd want to go any harder than keyframes for the cruiser, so hopefully these will start to break in soon. How long did it take for yours to get to that point?

56mm wheels with no risers? or does the width of the trucks make up for that?

I don't skate wiggly loose trucks, probably a solid medium. Have done closer to 60 and it's been fine for me. I do wax the wheelbite area just for peace of mind though. But in this case, the wheelbite marks are on the very edge of the deck (not completely on), so I imagine the wheelbite isn't as gnarly.

sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. I have 60mm F4 classic Spitfire 99Duro and Indy Stage 11 Polished Standard. I’ve rode my setup a few times now and I like it. It’s odd though because I’ve been riding my 53 Spitfire conical full which are down to 49mm rn so it’s odd haha.

I wonder if I should have gotten smaller wheels. Other than that I am happy.

I’m curious about this too, I’ve been skating my keyframes daily few weeks now and I can break ’em for some quick speedchecks but no way proper powerslides, never managed to break under 90d wheels to powerslide actually so maybe it’s just me🤔

Most soft wheels I've tried don't slide for shit. However I've had two sets of Powell Bombers 85a on previous cruisers that slide extremely well, not too much more effort than a hard wheel. I'd get those again, or try the g-slides, but I want a wheel with a slimmer profile for the zip zinger. It's definitely possible to make a soft wheel that slides well, but it seems that most manufacturers haven't figured it out, and the ones that have don't make them in a variety of shapes.

The g-slides urethane in a keyframe profile would be stellar.

Thanks for the reply! I have a Dane1 set-up that's pretty similar in shape that I don't ride much because it's pretty big lol. I thought I'd be psyched to get a taste of how it used to be but mostly I just think it's harder to ollie. I started out with Ace 66s and 56mms wheels trying to keep it period but found that too heavy and put some 54mms and hollow Indy 169s on it. It's lighter but there's still a lot of skateboard there. I'm gonna take it out tomorrow though because it's pretty fun to ride around on.

I’m not a fan of longboards but my only cruiser is a Brad Edwards Gravity model with 159’s and some Gravity wheels Brad gave me before he died.  Miss that dude so much.  Cried my ass off the day I set it up.

AH Grosso 9.25
Ace 55s
Bones Rough Riders
Bronze hardware
Man the long board truck thing killed indy for me. I was willing to set aside the racism, but long boarding, gtfo... - DH
