This is my local DIY - been skating here back when it had nothing some 20 years ago and a live 5 minute skate away.

A bunch a years ago this tweaker showed up on a stolen moped, and built some wooden things to skate there. It’s an old tennis court wedges between two houses, in a fairy posh area. They let him have it though. Eventually got taken down, and a few years ago we started to pour concrete there, and last summer we got permit to be there from the city.

We run an annual contest every year, Sour team always shows up, this time they brought Wes Kramer which was sick.

This is from the contest, we had it this weekend:

New one from this weekend.  Inspired by a Xeno spot in Pittsburgh.

I like how the countertop was incorporated into the spot. I also like that you can name the obstacle after this cat

Built this about 3 years ago. First jersey barrier. Want to add over preexisting tranny, as it's hard as shit to skate. Basically, just this dude can skate it. Good practice though

These guys are killing it these days, I’m hyped to skate it when it’s not snowing.

You should hook The Heated Wheel up with a pin. Looks like a place Neil would like. I know Tom's down

It aint much but thems my verz first pour and build attempt. Also majorly fucked up the placing as we used masonry mortar for the so it will probably crumble to fuck in no time (should have just used construction glue and concrete). The slappie curbs themselves seem really solid tho and grind/slide very nicely. If its still around when Im back from vacay well add another flat curb to the end to give it an actually enjoyable length

RIP The Hive. The city has officially torn it out.

6 years, like a dozen pours, numerous hours of scaping and painting.... that shitty ditch from the early 1900s is still there, likely only to get piled up and prevent drainage AGAIN. The place was almost impossible to skate. So many good skaters I knew wouldn't even touch it. But when someone got a good trick there, everyone felt it. If the same layout was like 2.5 times larger, the flow would be so fucking good.... anyway...

Our other DIY got blown out too, Foundation H we called it. Factory floor with no walls, and a thigh high stage. We had some small jib features, a euro gap up the stage, and a hubba down the stage that turned into a flat ledge on top. Lots of jump ramps and rails too.

Now correlation doesn't always equal causation, but it sure seems like this random event (like a fuckin "album" release party) put too many eyes on the spot and the business next door said "Oh hell nah". Everything was leveled, except the hubba which was still busted to shit . Added some No Trespassing signs and with that, Foundation H was killed.

Get there while you can, fam. No guarantees they last.
