Transworld's 10 Skaters Who Changed The Decade: Paul Rodriguez
« on: January 16, 2010, 12:36:19 AM »
Transworld's going to be reissuing 10 ground-breaking parts from their past videos (I think just their videos at least) with commentary of that skater on their experience filming that part & being a part of a Transworld video, and their career in the past 10 years. First up is Paul. A surprisingly rad idea. And if you don't agree then you can at least watch this part again if you so choose.

That's a pretty good list though, I wouldn't really change anything

That might be the 10 most memorable skaters of the decade, but I wouldn't call them influential.

You're right about P-Rod and Appleyard, I would't really call them influential either
But those other guys..
Daewon: Broke every boundary for manual and miniramp skating
Guy: His comeback was truly inspiring
Koston and Cole: Continuously setting standars as far as streek skating goes
Cardiel: Paralysis couldn't stop the guy from skating
Kirchart put out set the standards for handrail skating in Sight Unseen
Reynolds is probably the best gap skater ever
Marc's ridiculous ledge skating in Fully Flared (not just him, the entire video did, but he had a big part in that (litteraly and figuratively)) made everybody get tech the next few years

I would call all of those guys influential

Danny Way was on the list, too. You made a strong argument for a lot of those guys, but being the best gap skater or putting out a long part doesn't make you influential.

Guy wasn't on the list.

I think I agree with everyone except maybe Apples. You can't say anything bad about Mark but I'm not sure he "changed the decade."

I might put PJ in there instead of him.

Otherwise, good list.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that they favoured these dudes kus they had parts in their videos, it goes both ways. Transworld has had a big influence on skateboarding, period.

Their list should is really the 10 most memorable skaters of the decade, as in the ones who stood out and made the most noise (because of their skating, obv). Its been said, you can't hate on Apples but he shouldn't really be on that list.

PJ should be there without a doubt, his WHL part blew everyone away.

I cannot believe how old In Bloom is now. That was maybe the first skate video I watched.
