Just a question...

what percent of your guys' music collection is downloaded?

I always feel bad when I download an album, like I'm stealing from good people.

Most of it, but if i like it i buy the record when i can, used to have a huge record collection, but i got in a finacially strain so had to get rid of most of it.
So no i dont feel guilty

100 percent, even albums i own i just download them, it's faster than burning them. but i do buy music, i have about 100 or so cds, a decent amount of tapes, and about 200 vinyls. so i do my fare share of supporting.

I buy records and tapes when I can afford to, but, with money being tight, it's definitely good to be able to sample an album first. Not stoked on spending money on records that I'll only play once.

A record that was worth every penny...

live double LP, the tracklisting is pretty much a best of Smog, lots of songs from A River Ain't Too Much To Love, including a really sick version of The Well

practically all of it, i haven't bought an album in a few years. i don't feel guilty, bands make good money from tours. i try to listen to things i haven't heard of; downloading them supports the artists because if it wasn't for the internet most of these bands would be nowhere.

Agreed, some of the bands i talked to thinks downloading is good for them, since they get their music out and listened to they can go out on tour and sell records there.
personally i dont like to buy downloads, i rather get it from soulseek or some torrents, but i like it i buy the record.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Can't Maintain

http://www.mediafire.com/?de5jcaxdn3q

Their 2009 album, folk/punk. Great songs and energy. Let me know if this link is missing a 13th song called "White Face, Black Eyes", I've noticed that some of the links are missing that last song. If so, I will personally upload it for you. Enjoy.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Operation Stackola

http://www.mediafire.com/?nmtnncdmyu6

2009 EP, self released. Most of the recordings are covers/live takes including a cover of "Ziggy Stardust". Enjoy.

I tend not to feel too bad about not buying albums cause I know that if they ever come through where I live I'll pay to see them without hesitation.

i have 85 GB of music on my computer, but i also have a hundreds of records CDs and tapes. i also go and see bands every chance i get, and usually buy a shirt or record or something. most bands that actually care about music as an art and care about their fans, make their music accessible, play shows often, and have affordable albums/merch.
