Post up some examples

Will Ferrell - Semi regular/gay dude, sometimes a hypochondriac

Common - Cool as fuck, usually has a gun and never smiles

Anna Faris - Stereotypical dumb blond

Bruce Willis - Badass that defy's the laws of physics and can doge bullets like a mofo.

Jim Carrey - Creep that talks like he has down's syndrome

Add more if you can think of any.

all three of them have both played a wide variety roles, they def don't fit this description, norton and deniero both have played roles in comedies and killed it. and bale only played a creepy psychotic once, he just did a really fucking good job.

Deniro was the character I just said in raging bull, the godfather part 2,taxi driver, goodfellas, casino, meet the parents, analyze this...
Edward Norton split personalities/ two sides of him: Primal fear, fight club, the incredible hulk...
They all do play a variety of roles, and are good actors, but have a reoccurring theme to many of their roles.

for a minute he switched from his typical role when he starred in those three star wars films, but he was still very cynical

i was waiting for him to say "use the force motherfucker!" throughout the SW films but no, what a bummer.

his facial expressions and mannerisms tend to be the same in all his films. it also doesn't help that he usually plays the role of the angry black man whether its a starring or supporting role. he probably has more range as an actor but we'll never really get to see it.

jack black is also one dimensional even though i like most of the films hes in.
