yeah. every pair, unless i give them to a grom in need. i've not got my aces down to the axle yet, but i'm getting there. the summers shaping up nicely and i predict copious amounts of slappies and a new diy spot will get them there by the end of august. ahhhh slappies.
Nice.

Yeah I managed this on GK's in like 1999, but they had the allen key kingpin so you could actually grind them to the axle without the kpin biting.

serious question, and i don't mean any offense either, but is grinding to the axle really that impressive? i do it to all my trucks. that's how i know to get new ones eventually.

I think it's viewed as more of a personal feeling, and probably adds credibility to the ego for being the opposite of a poser by taking em' down to the axle. Who knows.

1. there's something satisfying about seeing a worn-out truck
2. Is it impressive> not really, but a lot of us constantly buy new skate gear, we dontneed. Trucks being the longest lasting product, I see it as a badge of honnor to get the maximum usage out of truck before switching them out.

Thunders and Bones bushings ? For some reason, i always thought those two didn't work together. Something to to with the kingpin's length...

I love the way a crook groove looks.

Its not really picture worthy yet; but I just broke through to axle on some 1.5 year old indys. The odd thing is its on the front truck. I've never hit axle on the front truck first. Always back truck, heel side first. Then the front truck. I think its just from a ton of slappies.

wish i could get all four corners
back heel-side is almost there, followed by back toe-side
the middle of the front truck has hit axle from slappies, but it looks ugly because there's still meat on the sides
not a fan of nosegrinds
maybe i should learn willy grinds :^)

I’m just axeling my trucks now too, but only on the front truck, crook position. Lots of Slappy crooks these days...

I hit axle on my crooked grind spot only, which probably demonstrates a lack of priority wrt other tricks
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

Set these up in january. Not just pinchy grinds but those are definitely the biggest contributors. Should last a few more boards.

You skate mainly curbs or you just got crooks on ledges like that? Either way, respect ✊.

Mainly ledges, curbs maybe once a week. Most of the crook damage is probably from curbs though

Not to spam this thread but did some cleaning and dug these up

Always want to skate them until they break, but honestly trying to hold grinds properly on them at this point is a nightmare, the metal feels pretty different.

This is a pic of my back truck. ACE 33’s that I’ve been skating since the end of October. There’s been exposed axle for some time now. I plan on skating them until the truck breaks. I’ve axled more trucks than I can count, but never skated them to the point of the axle breaking

I got a visceral feeling looking at those! Ventures look so good even when they're all fucked up

By God, I’m gonna take some 148s I’ve been working on all the way down in the crooks groove as soon as I’m back skating. Got a major start already, just gotta take them to curbs and they’ll get there in no time.
